I’m so sorry to hear this, I guess I was fortunate that all of my experiences were good. I got my veil, bridal hanger, hair accessory and brooch bouquet from Etsy vendors with no problems.

This is why you always pay through paypal! I have loved everything I’ve ever purchased through etsy, but I have some rules:

I never purchase outside of my own company. NEVER EVER EVER purchase from China. Just a bad idea. I wanted to purchase froma  seller once, but after asking a few questions about hte item they were selling, it was clear they were faking a United States address. They were clearly not really in the United States. When I figured out they were lying, I stayed away.

Always check seller reviews. Don’t risk more than a few dollars on someone without a lot of reviews.

Finally, ALWAYS pay with paypal. That way, if you don’t get yoru item, you can cancel the order through paypal. If you don’t pay with paypal, the process is a lot more difficult. If you DID pay with paypal… make sure you cancel the order before your time period runs out. Do NOT listen to reassurances from teh seller telling you, “just one more day… just two more days” because that is a quick way to screw yourself over. Make sure you make that deadline.

And happy Etsy buying!

I have had good luck as well. At the bottom of each vendor page are the shipping/postage. Most international charges are going to be higher. Usually there will be estimated shipping time as well.

I did have one experience where I had to email the vendor several times. I did post that in feedback.

My experience has been extremely positive. I would say the option for customizing many items and the customer service for me are why I like Etsy.

I have only had great experiences.  I had my bouquet made by a lovely lady and she updated me over the process.  I also bought props for the photo booth they came superfast!  Paypal always!

I’ve purchased a ton of things on etsy and never had a bad experience.

I also use paypal and domestic sellers though.

I live off etsy, I swear. I’ve never had a bad experience… I have noticed that it takes FOREVER to get stuff if its from another country. For the longest time I kept assuming everyone I was ordering from was from America and would get frustrated if it didnt arrive soon, but then I would go and check the seller and realize they were in another country and of course I wouldnt get my package in just a few days.

I only use paypal though. I’ve had my card number stolen before, so I wont risk it again.

Paypal yes! My flowers are from Australia and my jewelry from UK!!!! Two of the nicest ladies I’ve worked with.

I’ve never had a bad Etsy experience. I had most of my wedding stuff shipped within the US, but I had my veil shipped here to Australia so I could see it with my dress. It took nearly a month to reach me, but that happens sometimes and it wasn’t the seller’s fault.

I’ve only had 1 experience so far – paper/quilling hair clips for me & my BMs, plus a birdcage/bandeau veil. The seller couldn’t do enough to help me to create my custom order, she had it done crazy fast, sent me updates & finished photos & my order arrived less than a fortnight after shipping (from US to Australia).

I’ve also got another order lined up – kusudama flower bouquets & bouts. Once again, lots of conversations with the seller re getting exactly what I wanted. Only reason I haven’t placed order yet is that she was temp closing her shop for a few months as she is getting married in October. I’m moving house in December, so I didn’t want to order beforehand. I’ll order in the new year.

Yep pay through Paypal and then if you have a problem you can report it to Paypal, the reviews are also very helpful so make sure you glance through those first. Most sellers are great to work with, but with anything there are a few that are not so great. I sell on Etsy and buy as well so far I’ve never had any problems!
