We invited 150 and have 120 attending, so 20% declined (although this includes +1's that some guests didn't end up using). About 20% of our list were out of town guests, a little less than half of whom are coming. Hope that helps!
PS I've heard that on average, 20-30% of guests decline, but that obviously depends on a number of factors, such as percentage of OOT guests, size of the wedding, location, etc.
We invited about 250 and just under 175 are going to attend.

Dont always go by that percentage. I did that and invited about 120 people hoping that only a little over 100 would come. Only 5 people have declined!! We are actually up some becuase we have a few people who want to bring guests. We live in a pretty small town though, where everybody lives within 45 minutes from the ceremony and reception. If you dont have many out of town guest then you probably wont have as many declines. Hope this helps, I know its hard to guess.

I have been hearing so many different numbers from friends, but what is your experience with your guests declining? We want about 175 people at our reception, but are unsure as to how many to invite! What do you guys think? Just FYI, about 10% are out of town guests.
