My now fiance proposed a few hours ago, and it was perfect in every way. We live in Switzerland (I’m American and he’s English), and he took me to our local botanical gardens. It houses a rockery, and I LOVE rocks. I have a habit of picking up rocks on our walks and taking them home to disply and for crafts. One more than one occassion, I’ve filled my SO’s pockets once mine were done. As we’re walking through the rockery, he’s helping me find a pebble to take home (not one of the display rocks! I have limits. Just one of the gravel bits.). He was a bit behind me and he called my name. I turned around and he’s holding this big granite-type rock. I thought it looked nice, but thought it might be too big to take. He walked up and flipped the rock over. There was a white plastic bit underneath, and I had no idea why that was there. Then he peeled it off, pulled out a diamond ring and dropped to one knee to ask me to be his wife. After I cried, I remembered to say yes!

GORGEOUS Ring !!
That Proposal sounds FABULOUS…
I take it then that it was a “fake rock” and the ring was inside it ??

First off, you are too cute with your rock obsession (if we can call it that?) when I was little I was like that. My brother and I loved to pick up rocks and break them in half to find “gold and diamonds” anyways, filling your SO’s pockets with rocks had me going, “awwww!” lol
Congratulations on your engagement and beautiful ring!

@This Time Round: Thanks! And you’re right, it was a fake rock! He was so nervous that he wouldn’t be able to sneak it out of his pocket without me seeing.
@AlwaysSunny: Thank you! We picked it out together, and I love it.
@Birdi: Thank you!
@Miss Panda: Thank you! It was perfect for me.
@CaliRorter: Oh, it’s absolutely an obsession. My mom used to get mad at me for not remembering to take the rocks out of my pockets before tossing my clothes in the laundry. I learned very quickly once I started doing my own laundry. Thank you!
@Epicpooka: Thank you! It was fantastic and I’m still in shock. He’s a keeper, that’s for sure.
