SO. I have been carefully timing my periods to see when it will happen around my wedding, and it looks right now that I will start two days before my wedding day, and my period lasts three days like clockwork. I do not take hormonal birth control of any kind for several reasons (don't worry we don't go unprotected :)

I dont want to skip my period, simply rush it so Im done before the big day!

Any ideas on how to push my period to come a few days early? Wedding is in a little less than a month now.

Sadly, no way to make it come faster without being on BC.

missasb is right. althought the last minute excersizing and eating better and stress MIGHT throw your cycle off. b/c is your only hope.

I can't take hormonal birth control either... so I'm in the same boat.  But there are lots of things other than birth control, stress, exercise and diet that can throw off your cycle.  One thing I notice delays my period is being on antibiotics.  I'm always really really late after being on antibiotics (like for a sinus infection, for example) as long as I start the antibiotics earlier in the month.  I'm totally not suggesting you take antibiotics if you don't need them.. but pray for a sinus infection a few weeks before your wedding and maybe you'll get lucky. :)

    there is one other option:)

a few years ago we went on a camping trip, and wouldn't you know my period was due right in the middle of it:P so i went to my doctor and told her the situation...

theres a pill you can get to delay it for a few days, as far as i can remember you take it once a day or 3times a day, ive completely forgotten...

anywho i didnt get my period while we were camping and once i came off the pills i got it around a day later... it was a lifesaver!!!

im sorry i cant be more help, i cant remember the name or anything but if you explained the situation to the doctor she should be able to give you something other than BC..i hope that helps:)

I was on my period until the day before the wedding. You know, it really wasn't a big deal, I wouldn't worry to much, you never know how your body will react.

Our bodies are under a lot of stress before the wedding, they react in weird ways. Myself, I hadn't had a period since March of this year and I got mine a week before the wedding....Haha. So it's kind of a shot in the dark to know what your body will do.

hisbabyB it sounds like they gave you progesterone..?  I think?

You could talk to your doc, but I don't think there is anyway to do it w/o medication.

    Goodluck.

My period was meant to start the day before my wedding. And it ended up starting just under a week before - with the amount of stress I was feeling I was eating lots of comfort food, chocolate, crisps, etc and I can only imagine that eating badly like that made my period come early. But I do have irregular periods anyways so that could just be me being an idiot.

Definitely speak to your doctor to find out what other options that work the best for you.

I suppose you could take the "morning after" pill a couple days early to start your period early.  I'm not sure what that does to your regular cycle though.  A doctor can always give you those answers.

Otherwise just let your period start two days before, and on the morning of your wedding, sit on the toilet and pretend you're pushing a baby out... if you know what I mean.  ;)

Why not just let nature run its course?  It's not an ideal wedding night, for sure, but sex during a period can be just as good as not.

Me too! My period has been like clockwork for the past six months. My wedding is on August 21st and my period also started on the 21st of this month. I'd rather not take hormones, but I was hoping there was something natural that could delay it or get it started earlier. It's not just about the wedding night, but I don't want to have to worry about staining my dress with a heavy period, running to the bathroom all night, and the horrible skin breakouts I usually get just before my period!

@cherryblossom80:My wedding is next month and I am worried about the same thing. I have been like clock work it starting on the exact date it's supposed to be. But since I've been planning things it's been starting 1-2 days early and now my 28th day is right on my wedding day and if it starts early my heaviest day will be on my wedding day....I worry about my dress and runn ing to the washroom...and embarassment of having people to help in there to hold the dress up etc.   what to do???
