I know it's personal but I'm wondering what the average price is for a dress? Mine was $825... I have no idea if that was a lot or not...

I thought that under $1,000 was GREAT!   I wanted be under under that mark, but....didn't happen.  :(  Instead I multiplied it by 3!  Idiot Evie!

Mine was $1300.  I set a budget of 1500 for my dress.  Dresses can defitently get up there though but I didn't try on anything over my budget.

Mine is a morilee and is $860 before alterations. By the time I buy the veil, slip, bra and shoes I'm thinking about $1500 total

There really is no "average" price for dresses. It's very common to spend anywhere from $100 to $10,000!

I bought my dress and veil from Davd's Bridal on the same day.  I went during the $99 Sale, and although my dress wasn't $99 it was $50 off.  Together with tax the total was just over $500 and my mom and I split the cost 50/50.  I think the dress itself was $300.

It's amazing how things add up.  I am so irritated that my FI didn't want to elope!  I would have loved to wear a cute short white dress with a great pair of heels and have a fun vegas wedding!

Mine was about $750 after the $100 off coupon I had. :)  (Coupon/bargain queen) My veil was $150...so far that has been my big splurge.  I tried to borrow 2 different ones but neither worked with the dress. Mine is going to be chapel length...very dramatic. I want Mr. CurlyQ's mouth to fall open when he sees me.

This week I have decided my dress is not blingy enough and started sewing beads and sequins on by hand.  sigh...creativity is a gift and a curse. ;)

The key is to LOVE the dress...you will know it when you find it.  Mine is perfect for me (or will be soon... I'm all about the bling)  Just keep trying on...even if it's not exactly what you "think you want".

Yeah, that is not bad at all for a wedding dress.  I could have bought a used car or really nice vacation with the money I spent on my dress!!

Brides spend anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars to $4-5K on their dresses so it's hard to compare...but I would definitely say what you paid is pretty cheap!

Great job on finding a deal!

Mine was $1350 but alterations are included in that so that saves me a couple hundred I figure.  I'm forgoing a veil because my dress has gorgeous lace and I think a veil would be too much, so one of my MOHs is going to make a fascinator for me!

My budget is not high, but I still bought a dress for $1190 plus tax and $399 for alterations which is pretty cheap in my area.  I want to borrow or make a veil to keep everything clothing related under $2000.  I found a lot of dresses in the 650 range, but splurged a bit (which is totally out of character for me)! I'm going to cut in other areas.

$4,000 for a Lazaro. Funny thing was I went to Saks in Beverly Hills with a budget of 5K after reading online reviews "it's a must for every bride" and I could only find three dresses to try on within my budget. Everything that I liked was over $10K, not including the 9% sales tax we have in CA! I found a local lady who makes beautiful custom veils so at least I'll be saving some money there.

I'm having mine made for me and I was quoted $1700 for a tea length dress made from silk organza. I'm hoping that if I change it from silk organza to more of a tulle skirt it could be a smidge cheaper. But I was happy with that price cos I get exactly what I want made for my body - so it should fit like a glove! I didn't really have much choice though cos there are NO tea length dresses in the shops here in oz! Plus, I dunno what it is but wedding dresses are SO much more expensive here in Australia!

    I paid £115GBP (before alterations - which I haven't had yet). It's roughly $180USD. But then I didn't get a typical wedding dress.

I'm deciding between one that's about $1100 before alterations, veil, etc.... and one that's about $2300.... You would think it would be easy... but no, still deciding :-)

Mine is $800 before tax/alterations.  I think that's pretty reasonable.  The least expensive dresses that I tried on and liked were starting at ~700

I got mine at a Kleinfeld's sample sale for $1200...But alterations will probably run between $300-500, so that could bump up the cost...

Mine was $2700 from Romona Keveza's legends collection (budget wasw $3000, but I went over when you account for alterations).  I'm hoping to sell my dress afterwards to recoup half of the cost though.  We'll see if anyone wants to buy it :-)

Mine was $1100, my FSIL is making a custom veil with extra dress lace we bought for $100. And alterations will probably run about $200-$400.

Mine is a 100% silk dress that was first marked at $1200, and I got it for $100.  With the spankx and a zipper dress bag it was $156 (including tax).  After I purchase the tulle for a veil and and other accessories, I'm expecting to spend under $300.  My dress budget was $1000, but my parents and FI are really happy to know that I'm spending less than 1/2 of my dress budget on EVERYTHING! Smile

Mine is a dupioni silk dress with swarovski crystals and I had to spend 1100€ (which is about $ 1500.) But it kind of was worth it...

My dress was $975 after a 15% off discount with the bridal shop. I didn't want to spend over $700, but without knowing the price I tried it on and it was the one. I figured an extra $275 wasn't going to break me so I let myself splurge.

Mine was $750, but I've seen the same dress for up to $1400 from stores' websites in other areas.  I'd definitely reccomend coming to Oklahoma for dress buying if you're close, it's so much cheaper for the same thing.
