Hello fellow bees!
I was wondering what you all think about reception decor for a special situation. We are getting married in a catholic church followed by a reception at a beautiful historic place that is already decorated with many silk arrangements inside. and outside there are beautiful gardens with white tables. I have decided not to do any floral decorations since there are already beautiful silk arrangements which match my wedding colors. My wedding reception will be buffet style and there isn’t a lot of tables and chairs, mostly very small tables with some chairs. The place is victorian style built in 1880s.
We are having 300 guests. What do you girls think I could do for decorations? So far, I was just going to do something simple on the outside tables but other than that, do you think I could get away with not decorating the place since it is already so elaborate? The wedding is on Halloween weekend in New Orleans and my theme is very elegant, romantic and classic.. kind of Romeo and Juliet style. Thinking of having masquearde style masks at the end of reception maybe as a favor so far.
And what about favors.. seems like we are spending so much on the wedding that it would be hard to provide a non-sentimental favors to that many people.. and its expensive.
Here is the website for pics of the reception place.
Obviously, we will not have girls in antebellum(the big round fancy dresses) style dresses. And the pics of the dolls and doll house are for the upstairs. Wedding is downstairs
Would appreciate any input!!
