Hello ladies! So i’m getting married June 13th 2015 and I wanna be in the best shape of my life and look amazing in my dress! so I decided to hire a personal trainer and my question to ladies is… how many times a week should I go? is 7 months enough time to see great reults (toning up and dropping a few lbs) are any of you ladies working with a personal trainer? if so how many times a week do you go? has it been working for you? 🙂

I used a PT for my wedding and lost about 15 lbs over the course of 5 months. I saw her twice a week at first but then just couldn’t stomach the cost so I did once a week with her and twice a week on my own. I’ve had times in the past where I have worked out way more than this (when I was a student I worked out 6 days a week Ahhh what a luxury) but for me, the biggest difference in weight loss comes from eating less (and eating super healthy but that’s not the hard part for me). So although the PT made a differemde because she really helped me stay focused and she gave me toning exercises I wouldn’t know how to do on my own, the biggest difference really occured when I buckled down and tried my hardest Good luck!! I was really, really happy looking at my wedding photos that I had slimmed down.

raspberrymojito: that is awesome! great job! I think I’m gonna start out at 4 times per week until I’m comfortable to do so on my own. i just hope these 7 months is enough time to get the results I’m working for!

My BIL is my personal trainer and boy am I lucky!
I work out five times a week, one day arms and shoulders, one day back and chest, one day legs and two days running and abs!
He also watches what I eat and makes me feel guilty if I cheat!
Im getting married in April and feel confident in that time, so should you!

JuneBride.2015: Wow, 4 times a week with a personal trainer is A LOT! I have a trainer and have been working out with her for over a year now. I started about 3 months before my wedding and went twice week. I also worked out 2-3 times on my own. We did mostly weight lifting supersets together and I did cardio/strength training by myself. That was definitely enough time to see some results- just be careful about watching the scale. My number didn’t drop too much, but the measurements showed my progress. Diet was definitely a factor too, but as I lifted more I also found that I need more calories, so while I tracked what I ate it wasn’t necessarily calorie counting.
My biggest goal for training wasn’t necessarily the wedding- that was short term motivation. I mostly wanted to get stronger and develop a foundation to stay stronger for a long time.

JuneBride.2015: congrats on getting a trainer!!! I go to one 4 days a week. i LOVE it. I have a hard time motivating myself. so not only does having the trainer help me know what i should be doing, it also helps me actually get my butt to the gym and exercise. Diet should be just as important. just working out will not help you lose weight. i actually gained about 20lb while working out. and its mostly fat. because i just ate what i wanted, figured that would be ok since i was working out so much and so hard. WRONG! so becareful! lol
