Fiance and I are making candles out of recycled wine bottles for our favors. All bottles have been donated from our venue, and our original plan was to leave the original labels on the bottles. Our thought process was that people would be more likely to use them if they weren’t personalized specifically to our wedding.
However, some of the labels are lifting at the corners and we may have to go the route of personalized labels.
We are spending a lot of time on them, and I believe that they are pretty awesome. I would hate for them to be forgotten about or thrown away because they are custom for our wedding.
Would you use a candle that is personalized for the wedding? Or would you prefer the original label?
Here is an example with the original label (this one isn’t for our venue):
And here is an example of a custom label that we would go with:

I said personalize them, but I prefer a sense of unity to everything. I just think if all the bottles of labels that are on properly, it’ll look better.

I love your custom label.. I personally do not pay much attention to labels on candles so i’m thinking adding that special touch will work out. To remove the old ones I advise using oxy clean and hot water to soak bottles to take the old labels off easier … Good luck

I would use a candle with pretty much any label. I have candles with the really ugly label it comes with and yours is much prettier than those! Awesome favors by the way!

We are going to do our best to keep all of the labels in tact, but if any start to get shoddy, we will go to the custom labels as a back up (don’t worry, we will have unity as we will go the same direction for all).
