Not worth it! People don't notice the envelope or the stamp for more than a moment and for you to put all that effort (not to mention money!) into it would be such a loss!
I think they are super cute and a great idea I just know that we can't afford them. I think that the ones that the post office offers are cute anyway:
(its two gold rings and ribbon... and they're only 44 cents each!)
I don't think they're worth the extra expense. Yes they're cute and novel but from the ones I have seen in person, the post office puts their post mark stamp on top of them which defeats the entire purpose of the custom stamps.
While they are a really nice touch, it is hard to justify that extra expense. I like the ring stamps that Gator found from the post office.
I ended up buying vintage postage that I got on ebay and didn't pay much over face value. I chose stamps that went with our theme and everyone commented on them. I guess it would depend on how many you need to figure out if it's worth it. If you need a lot it might get really expensive but I think it's a cool touch.
i do think they are a nice touch and if you have extra $ to throw around i'd do it, but if not, spend it something else!! its true.. i doubt many people even notice it that much anyway.
I have also thought about doing this, but alas, I don't think it's worth the extra money. I could find better things to put that money toward. But if it's in your budget, it's definitely a cute detail!
Ha, at first I thought this was talking about rubber stamps. Honestly, I think it's not worth the money. I'd rather spend that money on something else or just save it altogether. Those kind of details are nice, but also just get thrown away since they're on envelopes!
How much do your invites weigh? Our invites need $1.39 in postage. Which means we had to do $1 stamps and $0.44 stamps. I think that's something to take into consideration before you get personalized stamps. Also I agree with some of the other girls that it's kind of a waste of money. Do you keep the outside envelope of every wedding invite you get?
I just snooped around the USPS stamp collections and noticed that the 1995 Great Lakes Lighthouse edition has the lighthouse that is less than a half mile down the beach from where we are getting married... ahhh, why didn't I buy a ton of stamps in 1995? Oh yeah, i was 13... but those would have been perfect! Anyone have 1995 Great Lake Stamps laying around?
They're cute. But if you do it, do it on something your guests will keep. One of my cousins did them for his RSVP envelopes. So he & his bride got all their stamps back! But we the guests didn't get to keep them.
We did them for my daughter's wedding - it was one of their engagement photos - about 1/3 of the people I talked to even noticed the special stamps. So, while they were cute and made my daughter happy, it wasn't worth it.
i love them, but i pay attention to that sort of thing. i think most people wouldn't even notice them... a personalized stamp or seal would probably be more worth you while.
I agree its a bit expensive but we got the custom stamps for our wedding and was really happy with it. We actually got a lot of compliments on the stamp so people did notice it!
IF they fit into your budget, go for it. I think they are absolutely cute and adds a little something to your invites.
I say if you have the extra $$, go for it. In the end it will probably be like $20-$30 extra, and it gives the invite some extra flare. We had save the dates (StD) made with cartoon versions of ourselves. But because our invitations are damask, and nothing like the StD, we used the cartoon from the StD to create a stamp for the invite to tie everything together. We are saving $$ by printing our own invitations, so we decided to splurge a little more on the stamps.
We ordered our stamps from Zazzle, and they came out great. They have a variety of sizes to choose from, so you can make the stamps really big if you want people to notice them. One downside, however, is that they do say "zazzle.com" very large on the stamps. I still think ours look great. Good luck deciding.
Stamps are my passion - so of course I recommend them. One idea is to just buy one or two sheets (20 stamps to a sheet) for family and the bridal party for a special touch to their invites. That way, they aren't too expensive (about $20 a sheet) and you can save a few for your scrapbook too. A lot of the brides I work with just order one sheet and purchase regular USPS for the rest of the invites. I work with Zazzle and the quality of their stamps is absolutely fantastic.
If you would like custom postage, visit www.perfectpostage.com and I can whip up a design for you.
We got on ebay and bought a ton of really fabulous different stamps (most at face value!) that give the envelopes a really fabulous look!

Ok, so I got sucked into looking at the personalized stamps from zazzle....found some really cute ideas to incorporate how we met wit these!!!! Totally got me excited to be able to put a little something on their to send out the invitiations and save the dates with where/how we met....
They are a bit pricy (shee of 20 for $20.60) and not sure if it would be worth it to do custom stamps? Has anyone gotten stamps from here and what are your thoughts on using them are they worth it or not? Are there any other websites that are cheaper?
