I finally got pictures to post as attachments--couldn't get them to work in the actual post. Thanks for all the help.
I think it looks great! I think I would alter it a bit around the empire waist like you said, but I think overall it looks amazing and really makes your curves look great!
i really like it. i almost think it needs a bit more definition at the waist for you to showcase your hour glass, but i think the dress proportions may be a bit off and i cannot wait to see it.
Honest opinion - - Its looks great!!!
I have a similar body to you - My dress was ordered against my hollow to hem measurements too. Ordering a dress with a hollow to hem basically means that you are altering the natural design of the dress – it becomes more of a custom gown and it will fit like a glove, perfectly!!!
I am 5 feet tall and curvy. I wore that exact dress at my wedding!!! (Wtoo Carmella right?) They were able to alter it to fit my porportions perfectly and it looked great. You should definitely get it!!!!
That dress looks awesome and will look even better once you get it altered! I think fit & flare is a good look for curvy gals! Great dress choice.
Thank you everyone of the help. I am really struggling with purchasing the gown because one of my friends said the dress makes my hips look too big.
090609: I sent you a message asking if you had any pictures of you in the dress--just want to get an idea of how the dress will look after it is altered-thanks a bunch.
if i had your bod, that would be 'the one'for me, i love that dress on you... its got just the right amount of glam while keeping it simple to show off your curves, i hate bulky dresses on curvy girls it hides them and makes them look frumpy... whos the designer of that dress
ps, i just saw your post about a friend saying it made your hips look big! seriously look at that picture of the front... you have a narrow waist not big hips!!! its a womanly shape... flaunt it
I think it looks great but maybe a little top heavy. Could you add a strap on the top? or some short cap sleeves?
Absolutely beautiful! I second what crebre said about taking it in a little to showcase the hourglass. Go for it!!!
You look gorgeous, and you've got a nice bridal glow!
In trying on dresses (as a fellow petite/curvy) I was surprised to find that fit/flare is one of the most flattering cuts for this body type.
I would have guessed A-line, but it's too tent-like on a small frame and glosses over the curves (making it look like maybe there aren't any) instead of playing them up nicely.
This is a beautiful dress and you wear it well. Congrats!
I think you look gorgeous in that dress. I agree with adding some kind of definition at the waist, though.
I still love the dress, even it it does make my hips look big. I like my curves and found that an A-Line dress on me did not sit right and I don't want a big ball gown (although I love them on other people).
It is gorgeous on you. What more matters? Even if they say a different style is more "suited" to your figure, you look smoking hot in that one. Be confident!

I think I have found THE dress but I have concerns about wearing a fit and flare being that I am petite and curvy. The bridal shop says they can order the dress with a hollow to hem measurement and that will help for the proportions to be appropriate and the dress can also be altered and since it has an empire waist it can be pulled up. I need an honest opinion on this dress. Thank you soooooo much!!!!
