I don’t think so after it’s altered. Have you went to try any on yet? If you post pictures it will give us a better visual.

I’m 5’2″ and read the same thing about ball gowns. But mine definitely doesn’t “swallow” me (the pic is pre-alteration).

im 4 11 and Im wearing a ballgown.. i did however get a dropped waist so the skirt would not look like it was at my ears!

I’m also 4’1″. I tried on one ball gown and felt swallowed by it. It was certainly a “that dress is wearing you” moment. Even with alterations, I dont think it would ever look great on me. Kudos to all petite ladies who can.

I’m 5’2″ & 1/2 (that 1/2″ is very important!) and 118lbs, so I was tentative at first of a ballgown, but I ended up buying an A-line ballgown.. so it still has the ballgown look, but isn’t quite a poofy.. You could always take a layer or two of crinoline out to shrink it a little. I’m also wearing some big heels, to give the illusion I’m taller then I am.
