Haven't started trying dresses yet. Well to be honest, not even engaged yet lol. But they mad a post like this a few weeks ago. It was pretty funny, but most of the bees pulled the dresses off better than the models!@
Blah! I hate dealing with this, even in regular clothes. I'm pretty much the definition of petite (5', a 2 or 4 most days.) and things that look wonderful on people who are even 5'6" or so dwarf me. Cute plaid shirts? No way! No matter how hard I try.
You know how they have some plus size models (not enough) - well they should have petite models as well. Because things really do look so different and it'd be nice to see how certain wedding dress styles look straight from the designer.
@Wendy: oh! maybe i should look for that thread :-) thanks for the heads up!
@lily: Yeah it is definitely a pain! I'm just under 5'3" and a size 0 or 2 and clothes just fit weird sometimes! Especially when I have short legs and super long torso. It's annoying to have to buy some pants and then cut a bunch of inches off of it...I'm like HEY i paid for that part too! haha
I can buy crops that fit like normal pants! Haha. Express jeans short sizing is the only one that actually fits me fairly well inseam-wise.
@PDX
The part that I'm going to dread about dress shopping is not being able to "fill out" the dress, if you know what I mean lol
@lilyfaith: not to do any thread jacking.. but lucky jeans cuts an amazing short jean for us 5 foot nothins :)
@Wendy: if you're worried about that, i should be freaking out! I'm like a negative A! I don't want to look like I stuffed my bra either. lol
@babyboo - awesome, thanks! I also love AG jeans, but new they're out of my normal price range. I've bought some new via Ebay that I've loved.
@PDX
LOL girl. Well, I wouldn't say that I'm that small, but looking at some of the girls that post their dress pics, I'm so envious that they can fill out the top so well. I'm just curious as to what kind of top I should go with to flatter my figure...or to at least give me some UMFH without having to wear a massive padded bra!
@babyboo: thanks for the info! my roomate is like 4'10 or 11...I'll have to pass that on to her!
@Wendy: when i went and tried on dresses, every place i went to suggested the sweetheart neckline. probably the way to go since it gave even me some "UMFH"! haha :-) But yea I know what you mean...everytime i see brides post up their dress pics I'm so jealous that they can fill out the top! It's okay, we'll be able to rock our dresses regardless!
Okay, first time posting me in my dress! I'm 5'3" and even with heels the dress needs shortening (all 5 layers of it!). It's a Christos 04015.

Thanks! It's totally my dream dress and was only affordable because it was used and I am going to resell it.
@rachelss: OMG!!! You look amazing in that dress! Congrats on finding your dream dress :-)

So whenever I look at dresses in magazines, I have a hard time picturing what these dresses look like on REAL people, particularly petite people. I haven't purchased my dress yet so can't post up a me vs. model picture...but those of you who have, please share a picture of you in your dress and a picture of the dress on the typical 10 foot tall model! :-) I think it might be fun for petite people like myself to see different dresses on people who are not super tall!
