This was my wife's. She's 5'1". The only problem with it I can see is that it's hard to resell a dress that is for someone that short.

Here's mine. I'm 5'3'' and 115lbs. I got it custom made for petite. It's coming in for 5'6'' and I'll just wear 3'' heels.
Here's mine! I was very concerned before trying it on that the dress wouldn't work for me (at 5'2"), but it does. It looks like a dress that could wear a person instead of a person wearing the dress, but I am SO delighted with it! Occasionally I get worried that I bought my dress too early, but then I look at the pictures of me in the sample (which was huge) and know I made the right choice. Even this picture--on the model--makes me happy :-) I think I'm wearing it with Stuart Weitzman Jumbo shoes (about a 4" heel) but I'm not 100% on it yet. I have to get re-measured for the official order in December, and they'll order the dress in a custom length for me, measured with the shoes I'll be wearing (they call it a "hollow to hem").

Bunny bride to be- that Dress is AMAZING!! I am also 5 foot nothing and was really worried about finding a dress that didnt make me look liek some sort of child bride!! LOL
Also Shaunna, I LOVe those shoulder straps your your dress, they are so pretty!
I dont have a pic of me in it, but my dress is the Maggies Sotterro -Grace.
There are some pics here:

I definitely recommend finding a designer who does "hollow to hem" measurements--it will save you so much money on alterations! I ordered my dress from Casablanca (they also do custom measurements for all of your other dimensions for a very reasonable cost).
@Leprechaun: Yes! The hollow to hem is a lifesaver on alterations. That skirt has a bajillion layers to it, and each one would have had to be individually hemmed with a special serger or overlock machine...oy. I was so relieved to find they could do a custom length, and the store actually threw mine in for free if I put money down on the dress that day--which I had planned to do anyway. So it worked out great, and I'm super in love with the dress :-)
BunnyBrideToBe: WOW I LOVE YOUR DRESS! I'm 5'4" and would LOVE to walk down the isle that baby.
It was the only dress that looked right on my 5"4, 107lb frame and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
I am almost 5'2". And this is my dress. I am going to wear 4" heels and a very full crinoline, so it probably won't need to be hemmed.
@lisalew5472: Thank you! I love it, too :D It's a Justin Alexander...I guess that's a good brand for petite brides!
Air 5 for petite brides, YAY.... I am 5' and about 110 (at the moment, slowly going down to goal of 98-100 by October.) My dress arrives this month, FINALLY!!! It was ordered in January. It was ordered against my hollow to hem and the flair was brought up an inch. I look tall in this picture but don't let that fool ya, I am standing on a block, HAAHAAHAAHAA

@noritake that dress is AMAZING!!!! WOW!
I'm 5'2 on a good day, here's my lovely, I had to pay $100.00 extra for the hollow hem or as my mom called it the short person tax.
5'2 here. I went for a tealength dress. (Had to have it shortened because it came to the floor on me and actually looked like a full-length dress.)
@june42011 I love the 'short persons tax' - it is so true!
I went with Casablanca and a custom hollow-to-hem but I didn't get charged extra for it. Here's me waiting to walk down the aisle with my grandfather. I'm 5'1 with 3.5 inch heels here.

And here's the super tall model.

I'm 5'2'' and about 109 pounds. I bought my dress at a local bridal consignment shop. It's a maggie sotterro. I didnt have an emotional reaction to it, but I knew it was the dress for me because it fit perfectly, including length. It also already had a bustle attached.
Question...What does hollow hem mean?
Hollow to hem means they take your length measurements and cut the dress to your proportions. It is the measurement from the hollow of your neck to the bottom of your dress (your feet).
It is better than just hemming the dress because that generally throws off the proportion of the dress, especially if you are cutting off 8 inches or so.
@Tulip61110: Did you put any crinoline under your dress for flare?
@marlie: I LOVE your dress!! You look fantastic.
I'm 5 feet exactly. My dress is the Mikaella 1367. I just got a call from the salon saying it won't be ready until October now (EEK!!), so I'm considering buying a back-up just in case...ugh. Luckily I got a pretty good deal on the Mikaella. No pics of me, just the model!
5'2", 150.. so i'm petite and round... lol, but i wore 4 inch heels!

I'm 4 feet 11 inches. I'm wearing an Allure dress. I apologize for the crappy pictures but it was a salon were no pics were allowed...so we had to sneak them in!
@Miss BooBoo: I didn't use a crinoline...I don't think it would have worked well with the type of skirt on my dress. I also wanted the bottom of the dress to have movement rather than being more structured and stiff from a crinoline.
I'm 5'2, was 115 lbs. Here is me in my maggie sottero dress- Felicity. I had 1.5 in heels. I had my dress hemmed.

@BunnyBrideToBe - LOVE your dress! Stunning.
I'm 5'2.5" wearing 4" heels. Here's mine :)

I love this thread! I'm a 5'0 bride myself and haven't starting shopping yet. I was worried about finding a dress that didn't make me look like a little girl playing dress up. But you ladies have given me hope! :)
@jackie-o: loooooveee it! It gives you an amazing shape.
This is my dress (aka Mrs. CB's dress) - I'm 5' exactly, and will be wearing 4" heels. Without the heels, it's only eh on, but with them I want to twirl all day! It makes me feel gorgeous!

I'm 4'11, 5'0 on a good day. I did order the hollow to hem and it was the BEST decision that I ever made. I have 3 inch shoes that I am wearing. Don't mind the picture - the sample I tried on was about 8 sizes too BIG.
