i am about to graduate university, and my wardrobe needs a MAJOR overhaul! i haven’t really put myself together in months, between getting sick (lecture halls are like a petri dish, ick), studying all day and all night, and eating junk food (and thus getting chub chubs) i’ve been living in old tshirts and ratty jeans.
now that i’m about to graduate, i want to look nice! but it is very hard for me to find clothes that fit me, since i am very petite – about 4’11, 95lbs. do any of you ladies have suggestions as to where to get petite clothes?? i’ve had more difficulty finding jeans that fit me than tops, since my legs are short… the only thing that i’ve found fit me were hollister jeans (embarassing), because they make them so tight that they actually fit me. other brands, like gap are too wide on the waist, legs, butt, everything!
though its easier to find tops that fit me than jeans, i need new tops too!
help a shortie out 😀
EDIT : im talking regular/casual clothing, not business or professional

I am 5′ 2″ and get my jeans at New York and Company and Old Navy. Old Navy has a great sweetheart jean that fits me PERFECTLY everywhere. Both places carry petites too. New York and Co. is the only place I go for dress pants.
JCPenney’s carries a line called a.n.a. and I had a few pairs of their jeans once. They’re specifically designed for petite people. I loved them and wore them out, but couldn’t find them at my local JCP again… sad day.
For my professional shirts/cardigans/etc, Target is my fave. Their shirts fit me really well and I have tiny shoulders/boobs and sometimes have problems with shirts being too… wide? Theirs don’t seem too. The sleeves are often a little too long, but hey, can’t get everything! 🙂

Have you tried Old Navy? I’m 5’0 and 110 lbs. Express fits with shoes with heels, but they’re so expensive 🙁

I really like Old Navy for their jeans, but they might be too baggy for you — I’m 4’11 and 110 lbs so a little bigger than you. But their Short jeans are like the perfect length for me (maybe like a half inch too long, but better than anything else I’ve found!) For professional clothes and sometimes everyday clothes I still shop in the juniors dept at places like JCPenney’s, Kohl’s, etc. (I know, it’s embarrassing…) because they just fit my height/body better. Lame….
ETA: Hah, short minds think alike! Just saw the 2 posts above me w/ recs for Old Navy!

Ann Taylor and Loft have great petite work appropriate/dressy options.

Ann Taylor Loft is great!!! They have an entire petite line. Guess! Also fits well. J.Crew and Banana also have petite lines. For jeans I DKNY and Seven jeans fit me really well. Fyi – I’m 5’1 and 105 lbs.

We are similar in size, and I wear a lot from Banana Republic!

this stinks – i used to work summers at ann taylor and i had a HUGE discount there! but at the time, i was much skinnier (think 80lbs, 4’11.. eek!) and couldn’t fit into their petites then. now i can probably fit, but without the huge discount! i definitely missed out.
i found that banana petites really fit me too! but its on the expensive side..
i will definitely be sure to check out old navy this weekend, their prices are great and if they fit.. even better!
