Try Loft and Loft Outlet in the petite section.

I’m in Canada, and I shop at Reitmans. They have a great petite section with lots of selection!

@Mrs. Coyote:  no worries! I totally understand about getting pants hemmed! Yes, it only costs around $10, but if you have to get it done on every pair that you own, it adds up, plus it’s incovenient!!

@Mrs. Coyote:  Loft Outlet has pants for $40, and they have sales all the time.  And yes, you’ll have to spend money…that’s what I’ve learned!

I’m 5’3! I like loft and the limited! A lot of times I just buy mega sale pants and get the hemmed, hemming is only like 10 dollars around me

I’m 5’0″ and 90% of the work clothes I own are from Banana Republic. With heels, most of the pants I get from there don’t need to be hemmed, plus they have MAJOR promotions all of the time for cardholders. I rarely buy anything there unless they have a 30-40% promotion since that seems to happen every week.. sometimes you can even luck out and get that much off of the SALE price.

I have found that NY&Co has very nice, sturdy business attire and they have a good (at least imo) selection of petite clothing. You may also try JCPenney? And Kohls. I have found the last two to be hit or miss, but sometimes you can get lucky. As someone who worked at JCPenney for quite some time, I can tell you that Macy’s and JCP sell the same thing, only Macy’s sells it for more. 😉 So just a tip there.

For bottoms, I have more casual khakis from American Eagle and Old Navy and pricier dress pants from Banana Republic Outlet.

For tops, I have a few tops from ON, a few from BR, and tons from Kohls. Sometimes it’s just about perusing the clearance racks and getting lucky, but I do a lot of the “shirt with cardigan over it with khakis” look. My work is on the casual side of business casual. No suit jackets or heels there.

Both ON and BR have large petite sections on their websites. You can get XXS and Petite XXS at BR and ON has lots of “short” dress pants.

Kohl’s is good if you know your size in their brands, and then order online.  They have a big selection online but not so great in store.

@Sassyfras27:  yeah when I was in NYC I bought so much work stuff from banana republic because we don’t have any good petite stores here in Australia. And I agree about the discounts, they seem to be always on sale! And also it’s really good quality stuff and all natural fibres mainly.

@Mrs. Coyote:  banana republic has 40% off one item every Wednesday! I’ve built the bulk of my business casual clothes from BR and JCrew sales. Sign up for the store promo emails!
