I rescued my dog a year ago and he clearly was abandoned by whatever family raised him. He gets upset whenever I leave (except when he’s in his crate) or if I leave him with my dad/friends for the weekend. As long as I am there, he could care less about anyone else.

When I first got him, I was living with a roommate so I was his only caretaker. Now that FI and I live together, he has grown pretty attached to him too. But there’s no question – he’s definitely a momma’s boy!

Here he is:

I have two cats. And I got them several years before my husband and I began dating one another. They like both of us, but they have now each picked their ‘favorite’ person. Maybe have your husband do something for your cat that is special, so the cat doesn’t get defensive. Like feed the cat a treat, or play with the cat, or something of the like.

We have 2 dogs, both age 6.  One was his from before we met, and the other was mine from before we met.  We always joke about being one big happy blended family.  The truth is, they both love me more than him.  I think they respect him a bit more, because he has a little bass in his voice, but they like to cuddle with momma.  They follow me from room to room, and honestly they can take him or leave him most of the time.  And the dog that he brought into the relationship is WAY protective of me.

Awwww clingy animals are the BEST!!!

Everytime I go to my moms..about once a week…her little dog Molly…who Im crazy about and scoop her up and hold her like a baby…goes crazy and follows me around for hours. Then when I leave, she stares out the window for 2 hrs waiting for me to come

It’s only been 2 weeks, but I’m already our puppy’s person.  On weekends I encourage hubby to feed him and be his primary person So the dog doesn’t get too attached to me.

MY dog loves my husband more. I got him before he and I started dating, but he was there the day we picked him out and was always the puppy-daddy.  He used to puppysit when I traveled for work, and would just take him for the day to take him on “adventures.”  Since we’ve moved in together, it’s becoming increasingly clear that he prefers my husband over me.

To resolve this issue…we got another dog.  And thank GOD she loves me more, so now we each have our own dogs 😉

The white on is “his” and the doxie is “mine”

Cute kitten! My cat is more attached to me than my SO too. I don’t know if it’s because I was the one to carry her home in the car and make her feel safe, or it’s just a maternal figure attachment because I’m female. She has been more attached to me since we got her, though, and she’s over a year old now.

We haven’t had our kitty (Ophelia) very long, only since Monday, but she seems to think that the sun shines out my husbnd’s ass. I rescued her, clean her box, buy her toys, and feed her, but FI is totally the bee’s knees in her world. When he comes home she abandones me and needs to be with him.

Omgosh yes. We got a Border Collie, Tula, and she loves people. I moved over seas for 5 months and when I got back I quickly noticed she had a special bond with FI. I was like, “What the crap?!” We decided to get another puppy as a companion to Tula—and maybe so him and I could have a special connection. 😉 We got a Golden Retriever, Colt. He is the absolute sweetest dog. We now joke that “Tula is his and Colt is mine” but they are really both of ours. 🙂 Here are our fur babies ^^^
