I never got into dressing up my dog. I am all for a jaunty bandana or bow, but I can't bring myself to decorate him beyond that.
Aw your dog it so cute!
There is a Halloween pet parade in a town near mine that our e-pic photographer is trying to talk us into doing (but I doubt we will). If we would I would want to dress them up as Tinker Bell and Peter Pan since our little girl is half the size of her brother. It would be too cute and "fit" them.
Oh and on your hotdog costume...have you seen the ones where the dog is a taco? haha so funny.
We're not really dressing him up in a Halloween costume, persay. We decided he's just going to be an Aggie fan for Halloween:
Well i bought these last year....they would have fit then. But they kinda don't fit into them now!
My cats were zero from Nightmare before Christmas and Spider Kitty
Here they are: Zero (yup his name is Zero--we're huge Tim Burton fans) and Scraps (the gray one)
They are Link from Legend of Zelda and Navi (the annoying fairy that follows you around and beeps to tell you "directions." ;P) this Halloween. But, I haven't gotten a chance to take pictures..
Sad day though--they didn't place at the Petsmart halloween contest tonight! Like last year--Zero won first with his cuteness.
@ejs- seriously, love your cats. Especially the one with the yellow/amber eyes!
I love dressing Stew up. He doesn't love stuff on his head so that always gets pulled off quick, but he doesn't seem to mind wearing stuff on his body at all. Last year he was a rooster. Unfortunately I never took a good picture of him in the full costume. The one below is without the head and the costume is kind of jumbled up. The second two I've posted before but I'll just go ahead and post again :) This year, stew is a banana. I've already decided that next year he will be his nemesis: the squirrel!
We just got our minpin in July, so no costume pics yet :( But this year he's going as Count Dogula! It will go perfectly with his adorable huge ears!
@texaslawgirl- so cute! my parents have a pug too that looks just like your parents! That might not mean much to non-pug people but i think they all look so unique... i'm so excited when I see one that looks like our molly :)
@floridabeachbride - I had an albino ferret named Zero, he looked just LIKE the dog on NBC!! I'm a huge Tim Burton fan too, I went as Sally for halloween the year the movie came out. Your kitties are sooo cute!
I don't have any pets (other than an a-hole fish named Dwight Schrute) but I love seeing all the pets in costumes!
@corgi: Your little guy dressed as a banana is too cute for words!!! Love it....even without the head piece :)
thanks =]. last year they totally would have fit within the ghost costume, head to toe, but they had ringworm so i didn't want to deal with that. Oh well!
omigosh i love pets in costumes. this just makes my day =] I saw the cutest dog costume in an email last week--it was a big stuffed aligator around his body and it looked like it was eating the dog. Hilarious! i can't wait to have a dog and dress him up =]
Last year (year before?) DH's mom dressed her rottweiler up as Batman and the sister dog was a princess. Big mean rottie looking dog with a tiara =]
Last year we dressed up our dog as Daisy Dukes-because her name is Daisy!
I've been dying for this costume and lucked out a few days after Halloween last year (got it for $4). Mr. Bubblegums loves wearing it......can you tell?!? And the other picture Booms like, 'dude, what the hell is she doing to you now?"
My dog loves the lobster toy at Target and I think she'd look cute in the lobster costume (like the cute pooch above).
I totally just LOL'd at work! These pics crack me up! I almost held it together through ejs's cats but then I saw Shaema's lobster dog and I couldn't hold it in! This just made my morning!
@ejs: I saw that same email!!! Laughed me a** off at that costume.
I love to dress up my dog, altho he isnt as crazy about it...haha...
He's been a Lobster, a "Groom", a Bumble Bee, Witch, SantaPaws...
I keep refreshing and cracking up at this page, too! Totally makes my day.
Here is the alligator photo!!! it's genius.
the banana costume just cracked me up!!! ahhhhh i would lose it every time my dog came into the room wearing that! i now need to go buy my boys costumes right after work i think!! and that alligator is CRAZY!
Those are all so cute! We tried putting antlers on our cocker spankiel and well, he ate it!
@firemuffy, my dog (the one in my icon) always eats everything too - she chewed off her winter sweater last year! But our other pibble LOVES to wear clothes!
Unfortunately, they don't make nearly enough Halloween costumes for dogs of larger proportions!
@sage-- I know what you mean about "dogs of larger proportions". My mom likes to say her pug (pictured above in bee suit) is "full figured" and she has been known to buy costumes and custom tailor them with elastic straps and darts to make them fit the dog. It's really kind of sick ;)
I have never dressed up a pet of mine, but this makes me want to sooo bad! How cute! I love the lobsters! The bumble bee's are great!!
Our cat Case hated his costume:
But he tolerated just the neck leaves :)

Anyone else dress up your pets for Halloween?
Here's Ms. Mandy as a monkey last year for Halloween. Our other dog Tia was a lady bug but she ripped up the costume before we could take pics. I'm not sure what they're going to be this year.... I thought it would be funny to dress up Mandy as a hot dog since she's half dachshund. Hmm...
EDIT: having picture problems... don't mind me!
