a friend of ours was married and her dog was the ring bearer! It was a cute touch because an older woman in her 40s she had lost a lot of her family and her dog was the one she was close to through it all. It was a nice touch that made her wedding more personal. If you are a dog person like she is then I say go for it!

A lot of people have their pups in their weddings. Look around, tons of people have their furkids in their engagement pictures and such too! I think it’s really sweet.

Tiny (SO’s Dachshund) is still a puppy right now but if he’ll be calm enough by then I’m definitely thinking of including him. Unfortunately my feline fur babies are bound to be less than enthused at wearing cute outfits and sitting pretty, they’ll have to stay home Frown

I went to a wedding yesterday that had the couple’s standard poodle as the ring bearer!  They gave her a good haircut and tied a pretty bow on her head, and that was her outfit.  The little girl hung out inside at the reception, too, and she was so good!  My favorite part, though, was the daddy/furbaby dance.  They trained her to dance with the groom!  Of course, she was so excited and distracted by all the people that it didn’t work, but he grabbed her and danced a little bit anyway.  It was so special and so much fun.  Definitely one of the wedding highlights.

I think about doing that but what happens when the ceremony is over? Does a family member or someone have to take the dog home or put it in the kennel? I worry that it would be an added headache to worry what happens with the dog.

I knew a girl that her fiancee/groomsmen were suppose to be watching the dog but it got out and was ran over! They cancelled the entire wedding. 🙁
