I’m hoping there are some Vera Wang brides out there who can help me.
I recently purchased a Vera Wang Diana (my absolute dream dress!!! :D). I purchased this second hand since I figured I’ll only be wearing it for a day and I wanted to save where I could.
Looking at the dress when I put it on, compared to some of the photos I’ve seen on the web, the dress seems a bit less pouffy than it should be…
So I was wondering whether you are meant to wear a petticoat underneath a Vera Wang gown?
If so, what type of petticoat did you/are you intending to wear?
Thanks so much in advance! 🙂
P.S: Here is a photo of the dress

I LOVED that dress when I was first looking at wedding dresses, but came to realise a dropped waist silhoutte is not the best for me!
Anyways! My dress ended up being an a-line like this one and you need to have either a petticoat or a hoop when theres lots of layers (my dress had 4 yours looks like it has lots more!) so that the dress doesn’t end up sticking to your legs when your walking and stick between your thighs and create unflattering looks! Lol!
So I would definitely reccomend either a hoop at the bottom or a petticoat that will keep those layers seperate from your body! It makes it easier to walk and looks a lot better!
Whoops, I realised I voted but don’t have a Vera Wang dress, oh well lol!

The great thing about petticoats now, is that there is a HUGE range of styles! I remember my step sister getting married about 15 years ago, and there was only one type of petticoat (BIG). But now, you have slim-line with a little tulle at the bottom, to medium and American civil war crinolines.
By the way- I love the dress- The colour looks like fresh vanilla ice-cream. Heaven!!!!!

Thanks for the advice guys!! Much appreciated 🙂
I’m seeing an alterations lady for a consultation tomorrow so I’ll see what she says but I think I’m likely to get something to wear underneath. Whenever I walk around in it I am worried it’ll get caught up and I’ll step on it and rip.
Only thing I have to consider though is that the length of my dress is already quite short. I’m planning to wear these gorgeous valentino nude bow heels (2.5″ heel approx) and that makes my dress hem just touching the ground as is. I’m just worried if I get a hoop, the length of my dress will go way up!
Also I hear hoops can be quite uncomfortable? Especially when you’re sitting down? Not sure if that’s the case but my best friend got married recently and she hated sitting down with her hoop.
