I am looking for a reception venue in Philadelphia and our two wants would be something on the waterfront (or close to) and a hotel or a hotel extremely close by. We are looking at venues in the surrounding areas also which cancels out the water but we are really in need of a hotel close by. Anyone have a venue that they LOVED or been to a wedding that was just beautiful ???

I have never been to it personally, but have you considered the Seaport Museum or Moshulu both along the water?

I dont know if the Moshulu would be for us but the Seaport Museum is on the list to visit – actually, when I was younger I saw wedding pictures from the Seaport Museum and thats where the water front obession comes from 🙂 I have always said I wanted to get married there but never actually seen the inside

i don’t know what your budget is, but there is always waterworks, which is by the art museum.
also, maybe the camden aquarium? I personally haven’t been to an event there, but I know a lot of people who have who really enjoyed it.
Glen Foerd is beautiful and they have a ceremony site next to the river

- Wedding: October 2013 - The Down Town Club, Philadelphia
If you go with Moshulu, you can walk over from the Hyatt Penn’s Landing. It’s like, 2 minutes away. Both on the water.
I went to Waterworks to tour the venue, it wasn’t great. Just my opinion.

The Sedgeley Club is on waterfront along Boathouse Row which is absolutely stunning especially at night when the lights reflect the water. It’s pretty close to a variety of hotels in Center City and is by the Art Museum. I run often along the path here and just love this area.
