rather than writer! We felt very strongly that we wanted to write our own ceremony, but needed advice on what would & wouldn't work. Andy was always available via phone & email (we actually didn't meet until the day of the wedding!). He gave us suggestions & offered alternatives whenever asked. On the day of, he was early, friendly and a great speaker. He was able to interject a bit of his own personality into the ceremony, without detracting from the words. Several couples came up to us and asked for his details, as our ceremony was one of the nicest they had gone to. PhotographerSpark Photographywww.sparkphotography.comNot only are Joy & Kevin a pleasure to be with, the photographs they captured were amazing. They're both down to earth, calm individuals (a must for any vendor spending so much time with you on your wedding day). Never once did they say, "you must do this or that", but rather gave us suggestions and were happy when we slightly deviated. We had given them a list of the family photos - which we speed through with ease. They suggested an amazing location (Mercantile Building) - which made the formal photos much more interesting! Our teaser photos were up on their website within 7 days, and the full (754) photos were up on Pictage within 10 days of the wedding. Ceremony/Cocktail MusicTrinidad Northhttp://www.trinidadnorth.com/We were looking for something fun & upbeat to go with our wedding on the river. David of Trinidad North was great to work with - directing us to links for sample songs and suggesting ceremony songs that might work. Many guests commented on the quality of the music. I would recommend them to someone looking for a fun, upbeat, slightly quirky day! HairCalista Bridalcalistabrides@aol.comCali's hair skills are phenomenal - she managed to make all (5) of my Bridesmaids, myself & my mother all look great, but different. A skill. My only hesitation is that she was 30 mins late, and consequently 30 mins late to finish. This did not adversely effect any timings on the day, as I had padded the schedule. I did not mention this to her on the day, because I did not want her to rush the Bridesmaids hair. Also, Cali has a very bubbly personality - which I normally look for in a hairstylist. However, on the day of my wedding, I would have preferred a more serene, calm environment. Even with those (2) caveats - I would recommend Cali for the amazing work she did on everyone's hair. PlannerPerfect Plannershttp://www.perfect-planners.com/Jenn & Basha were amazing to work with. We hired them for (15) hours of planning - including Day-of-Coordination. Although Jenn had just had her twins, she was always available via email incredibly promptly. We mostly dealt with Basha towards the end, who was organized, upbeat, creative and fun. We feel that she went above & beyond, in terms of taking on all flowers & decorations. On the day of, she never once had to ask me a question because she remembered all the little details I had told her. Perfect Planners truly are perfect. LocationMoshuluhttp://www.moshulu.comThe Moshulu made our wedding. Seriously. The location is just different enough, without being too quirky. All of the staff prior to the event, during & after have been easy to work with. All the food was presented beautifully, and tasted wonderfully. The only suggestion I have, it to clearly talk though where the food on deck should be setup. The dessert buffet was setup very close to the dance floor, impeding flow a bit. Even with that caveat, I would recommend them for anyone looking for an elegant, albeit offbeat choice in a wedding venue. DJ No Macarenahttp://nomacarena.com/Darrell Asbury of No Macarena were exactly what we were looking for - a solidly good, easy to work with, didn't need a whole lot of direction kind of DJ. We firmly believed in hiring great professionals for our wedding, and letting them do what they do best. We gave Darrel a list of our first dance songs, and a list of songs we liked, but not a specific play list. He took those "indicative" songs and ran with it. He played a great mix of oldies & newies, and the dance floor was full all night. Invitations/PaperDesignerPi on Etsyhttp://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5888705Teresa from DesignerPi delivered the goods! She did our invitations, thank you cards, seating chart & Quaker Marriage Certificate. All were delivered ontime & in good condition. Teresa was able to work with our really tight schedule on the seating chart. She also sent sample papers to me for the Marriage Certificate.
