Hey there, I live in Philly but I got my dress in Lansdale, PA. The place is called Country Bride & Gent. It was around $900. I actually bought a Casablanca dress that I wasn’t super fond of and asked them to do a bunch of stuff to it and it turned out to be perfect. The one seamstress is AMAZING.The decor in there is a bit outdated but the people are pretty nice and helpful. I didn’t really have a budget but I’m certain you can find something in there for your price range. It’s literally a 35-40 min drive up 76 and then the northeast extension. Good luck!

@angcamp84:  Try Yes to The Dress in Hunington Valley.   It a bit further from Lizelles in Havertown but they they had a lot of dresses that were less expensive.

Have you tried Group USA? I know they have a store in Philadelphia. I checked out the one in Secaucus, and it was nice! I’m sure the Philly one will be similar.

I got my final dress at Daniels but I dont think they have anything for $1,000 try Sabrina Anns and Go back to Feasterville they did have nice Christina Wu gowns for that price range.  I got my after party dress at Say Yes to the dress. I was all over Philly and Lehigh Valley for a gown.  Also there is the sample rack too.  Mori lee gowns run in that range try to call and see who carries those.  I know there is a shop in Pennsville Stephanies (got my first gown there) that has them but thats up by Quakertown.

@angcamp84:  Sabrina Anns in Ardmore has a lot of really pretty stuff. I tried a Sophia Tolli that was $850 (sample gown, discontinued I think, never worn) and it was almost perfect but I wanted something with a longer train. They have a lot of dresses though, you should give them a call and check them out online. Theyve got more than whats online. I’m going back to look at veils.

You can also look at tradesey and oncewed etc to see what you can find. Some have been worn once and then cleaned and others are girls who had dress regret but was too late to return the dess so they never wore it. Some bridal salons post their sample gowns that they need to get rid of when a line is discontinued too so I would keep checking online if I were you.

The dress I picked I got at Bijou in Ardmore and although their main dresses range from $1-2,000 and up they do have a good selection of sample gowns for sale that are less. It is worth making a weekday appointment to check them out. You can take longer and not feel overwhelmed during the week (especially afternoon).  Good luck!

I tried gowns on all over the area.  The cheapest locations were Country Bride and Baranette in Willow grove.  I also suggest Sabrina Ann in Ardmore.

@angcamp84:  Did you ever look online to try to find the dress that made you cry either on sale, pre-owned or at a trunk show? It wasn’t wildly over your budget, so chances are you can find it for $1,000!!! And maybe you can sell your first dress as well? As someone else suggested, and seem great.

If any bees are looking for a dress under $1000 in Philly, try The Dress Matters. It’s in Media, PA and there’s a nice selection of sample wedding dresses by a lot of designers. Here’s the link. The Dress Matters
