Beautiful Blooms has stunning work. I haven't personally worked with them, but my workplace does on occasion and their arrangements are beautiful.
I've worked closely with Il Fiore Bianco (who also does flowers for Cescaphe Ballroom). Alicia does beautiful work and she just did one of my weddings last weekend.
(Yay for Northern Liberties = my hood)
I would avoid Beautiful Blooms at all costs. We met with them in April and it was a complete waste of time. I had been emailing Beautiful Blooms with our ideas since this winter. Yet when I met with Maya, she greeted us with a blank piece of paper and asked "so what are your ideas". She repeatedly asked us questions that I has already sent answers to months ago leaving us to reply, "that is in emails we have sent". We asked for our proposal before we met with her and she was not able to complete this unlike all of the other florists we met with. With this kind of service, I would not consider doing business with Beautiful Blooms for an arrangement never mind thousands of dollars worth of business on the most important day of my life thus far.
Today, a month later, I heard from them. I got an email that said:
"I hope this email finds you doing well and enjoying this beautiful day. You will have your proposal on Monday-we apologize for the delay!
Have a great weekend!
Maggie"
I told them that I was extremely disappointed it has taken this long to even hear from someone. This lack of professionalism is completely unacceptable and sadly, I am not the only one to have this sort of experaince with them. And this is how they treat business they haven't even earned yet. Who knows what kind of responce you would get after you've paid your deposit. I booked another florist weeks ago.
I, too, would avoid Beautiful Blooms. I found Amaranth Florist in Narberth, PA. I was quite impressed. They were able to provide with a quote for half of what Beautiful Blooms was asking. Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful flowers and I am willing to spend what I need, but I thought their proposal was rather overboard. Check out Amaranth. We're working with Loretta. http://www.amaranthflorist.com/
We are using Nature's Gallery and couldn't be happier so far. :-)
attention, all: this forum post was from 2 years ago and it seems this bee is already married
Good point pooks,
Still... I think this is a very helpful post because I feel like flowers is the area that I know NOTHING about! I don't even know what to budget for flowers. Has anyone heard anyting about Carl Alan? My friends really liked them.
Thanks :-)
Weaverm:
I hope that you get this post in time for you to make your decision. I am using Carl Alan for my wedding next month. They are absolutely wonderful. My initial meeting with them was at least 2 hours where they made mocks up of EVERYTHING, my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, centerpieces, altar pieces etc. This way you know exactly what you are getting the day of. Mind you this is all done before I gave them a penny!!!
Once you give them your deposit they forward you the pictures of the mockups. They also are allowing me to come the day before the wedding to look at everything and make sure it suits my liking. They have been extremely responsive to my emails and super friendly. Most importantly, they are very affordable (with their amazing floral skills). I budgeted $2000 for all flowers and got everything for less than that cost. I am also renting chivalry chairs from them.
My experience so far has been nothing but fantastic!!! Good luck and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Any recommendations for a florist in Philly? We'd like to stay local (old city/ northern liberties/ etc). we haven't contacted anyone yet but wondering if anyone has experience with: Old City Florists, Kremp, or Beautiful Blooms? Thanks, girls!
