Does she need a location in center city? A suburb? Or is she looking for someone who will travel to her?
oops- that would be helpful! it's in old city! we were planning on all going to the salon, but all suggestions are welcome!

I love Adolf Biecker salon -- I regularly go to the one in Strafford, but there's also a location at Rittenhouse.
I haven't been to any Old City salons, but my hair stylist and makeup artist both travel, although they may be booked.... worth a shot, though!

I have also heard good things about Bella Angel and Dollface studios (who would do both hair and makeup) but I haven't worked with either of them.
Another name that comes up a lot is Cali -- from Calista Brides or something like that? -- who also travels to wherever you are. My sister used her for her November '07 wedding...she and an assistant did all the girls' (6 BMs, MOB and bride's) hair and make-up in just a few hours.
Also try Salon at 5th. They do bridal packages and John is my stylist and is just the best! I second dollface- they do terrific work.

I second MagPie518 about Calista, as well as Meghan Cahill, but both are really popular on the Knot boards and therefore book up way early (Meghan Cahill was already booked for my wedding day when I contacted her over a year in advance!). Mrs. Bell Pepper used Cali, and she did an amazing job, though.

if you have an afternoon wedding (ie you dont have to ask them to come in early) try calling JUJU. it's on 3rd & bainbridge (just south of south street). the girls there are sweet & all their stuff is organic. prices are posted on their website too. im not sure if they do makeup, but camille did my hair after a hair a cut and it stayed volume-licious for like 2 days. i wanted to use her for my wedding but they dont do early am weddings. durn it.
Cali did my hair for a charity event a few months ago - gorgeous and super convenient since dirivng to the salon was totally out of the question.

My best friend had her hair and makeup trial (for her May 10 wedding) this weekend and it was a disaster! We're now looking for a new hair salon in Philly... any suggestions?
