I have heard and seen good things from Petals Lane in Manayunk. Britany is highly recommended from my venue (so I know she must deliver to CC) and other brides.
ynichole, as far as florists, are you looking for someone located IN center city or someone who will deliver? We're getting married in center city so we met with the following florists, all of whom would deliver:
1) Beautiful Blooms -- very expensive!
2) Honeybunches Design -- loved her, but she didn't quote us the best price based on what we wanted
3) Celebrations Design Studio in Delaware -- had our exact vision in mind, best price based on what we were getting
4) Flowers by Mary Elizabeth -- Mrs. Bell Pepper's florist, she was wonderful but didn't have the glassware that we wanted so it would have been super expensive for us to provide it all
If you want any information at all on any of them, feel free to send me an email -- julie.barber (at) gmail (dot) com!
St. John the Evangelist on 13th Street near Chestnut St. is very beautiful. It features intricate gothic architectural details. I know there is a florist on the corner of 13th and Walnut (just a few blocks from St. John's), but I don't know anything about it besides that it is there. St. John's would be my choice if I were getting married in Philly, but we are getting married back home. Anyway, St. John's is beautiful and small. the main colors there are brown, white, and blue, if that helps at all. Also, the one priest (don't know his name - sorry) is so good - really entertaining sermons and doesn't seem like he is lecturing as some of the priests do.
P.S. Since you are a Philly girl, can you recommend anywhere for us to move to next? Suburbs, apartment complexes, nice neighborhoods, etc. We want to move out of Center City because of my long commute, but we have to stay close enough for my fiance to SEPTA into CC!
MissTeaberry: Do you want to be in NJ or PA? I live in NJ, about 10-15 minutes from CC and my fiance takes the PATCO train into CC every day. The station he uses is about a mile from our house and it's an approximately 30 minute train ride into Philly.
St John's was actually one of my top choices, but they require non-parishioners bring their own priest....
That is weird that they want you to bring your own priest...here is a list of other churches in Philly...

Hope this helps you! Good luck finding your church!! Thanks for your housing suggestion!
