Make sure you give him a “Do not play” list as well. May I suggest starting the list with Love Shack?

Tell him if you what things to be announced or if you don’t.

Let him know the feeling you imagine in dinner and for the dance part. Like if you want the dinner to feel like it is in a fancy resturaunt he’ll know to play classical or jazz, not pop, and the same for the dance part.

Let him know if all the songs should be edited or not.

Definitely a do not play list. But be open on this. Also let them know what he should do if someone asks for songs that don’t mesh with your ideas or from the do not play list. I once had someone say no rap and then when the younger guests kept asking for it the Bride came up and said I could play it. So let him know whether you should tell them no or if they should consult you if that were to happen.

Make sure you know if they need a table or not.

i’m sure there is more but i can’t think. I hope that helped a little.

Make sure you go over pronunciation of names.  I really like the tips from breezer too…will be making note of those!
