I am going to need phone, internet, and a television service. Can anyone provide insight on if Direct TV (joined w/verizon for phone and internet) or is Comcast is better? These seem to be the two major services in the Boston area.
Phone: I will need a basic local and long distance service
Internet: I will need a wireless internet service with a good connection
TV: I have three tv’s. Two of them I would like to be in HD, one of them with DVR, and the third tv to be just standard.
If possible I would like to stay under $150 for all three.
At first look, you see $99 bundles, but really after everything is calculated in they are way over that price. Then it seems after six months you are locked into all of these movie channels and are paying so much more.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Personally, I have DirectTV and I feel like they’re pricey….but I also watch only about 3 channels (Discovery, TLC, Investigation Discovery and sometimes Discovery Health). Dish Network has bettery pricing (they are running promotions right now) but their packages are weird and I’d have to get a really high package to get the four channels I want.
That being said, from a quality perspective I have never had any trouble with DirectTV.
Also, I did get a flyer from AT&T for their u-verse bundle and as I recall it was under $150…for TV, internet and cellular. I would have gone for that but I don’t want to pay early termination fees with Verizon, my current cell provider. But, you might look into that as well.

I have DirecTV and they are actually way cheaper than going through Charter (cable). Dont have a landline because we dont need one, but we do have internet through Verizon thats about $39 a month. Total (not including the Full Court package we added for a few months), we pay $125. If you have Verizon in your area you could go through them to get the TV, phone and internet. Oh, our DirecTV we have 2 TVs with HD-DVRs. Adding another standard receiver is only $5 extra per month.
Most prices are good for 6 months and they will go up so be sure to find out what the price will be after the 6 months when you shop around.
