I really need to graduate to an actual photography forum (I love weddingbee, but I shouldn't be asking photo questions here all the time) so I was wondering if any photography buffs or photographer bees have any forum recommendations? There are so many out there! I'm hoping to find something for people who would like to go pro or are pros (i.e. I wouldn't want to go where there are all newbies and we're all in the same boat) and I'm also hoping to find a somewhat supportive community. Meaning, I can handle criticism, but not people saying "You suck, go home and start using your point and shoot again". I viewed a couple sites that seemed kind of unnecessarily mean...

So...where do you go for photo stuff?

+1 to LB & KLP If you are really serious about going pro I recommend Digital Wedding Forum. IMO this is the best I've found so far. I think they have a newbie/student discount to their membership as well. http://www.digitalweddingforum.com/

@kate169: It really all depends on what it is you want to accomplish... a lot of groups are specific... i.e. Maternity photography, baby photography, child photography, senior portriats, engagements, Wedding Photography, etc... I pretty much learned all my "skill" off flickr and I'm not ashamed to say it. I spent more time on flickr that anything else and would study shots I liked, looking at lenses used, asking about lighting, pp, etc... There are also "rate my image" groups... but you do have to take critique with a grain of salt. I would sometimes get these horrible critiques and then I would look at that persons work and it would be horrendous :).

@USER876: I looove PoTN!!  But to kate, you don't necessarily HAVE to shoot canon gear to be a forumer there.  haha!

Dgrin.com is also a great place to post things.

I would definitely use flickr, but it's blocked at my work and that's where I'd be browsing most of the time...*sheepish grin*

@serabell: I'm going to check out photo.net too. Because I can look at it at work lol.

@TedNghiem: I'm a loyal Canon user for life!! I have a canon p&s, canon dslr, and canon printer lol.
