I’ve used mypublisher.com in the past and have been really pleased with the quality of the final book.  You can often find coupons online for them.  Just don’t wait until the last minute if you  need the book for a deadline.  My book took a little longer to ship than originally expected (but customer service was extraordinary and they took off a big chunk of the price to compensate me so I made out even better in the end).

I used Shutterfly for a book last summer and it was pretty good. My only criticism was that I included a couple of nighttime shots and they looked REALLY pixel-y. I wasn’t impressed with that. But the rest of the book looked great.

I just ordered our engagement photo guestbook from Photobook Canada (yay for Groupons!). They come highly recommended by the article jenbrandner linked to above, I’m really excited to pick it up soon!

I used mpix.com for our photobooks.  They do really high quality stuff, but it’s pricey.  The books are hard-cover books and the pages lay flat, but it was about $250 for 40 pages, so not sure that’s what you’d be looking for.

I have heard a lot of good things about Blurb and I believe that is where I want to make my book. They have a program to download and customize your book. They can be really personal which is great. http://www.blurb.com/ if you want to check it out. There are other book making websites out there too. Even walmart can make a photo book. Just depends on how you want it to turn out.

Great thread MissBliss… thank you!  This will be very helpful to me as I’ve been wondering the same thing.

Our photog used Pictage for prints that were included in our packge with him.  We can order more prints, books, etc. from them BUT they are very expensive.  The quality is good on what the photog purchased for us but I don’t want to pay their rates.  I think photographers get a deep discount from Pictage.

Blurb makes great books that look very professional and great quality.  For just prints, I usually use Snapfish

I’ve heard that Adorama is great! Someone on here used it for her boudoir photos and was really happy with it.

I am making our guestbook through Blurb. I am ordering it today so once it is here I can let you know how it turns out. I’ve heard really good things about it though!

I am definitely all about the blurb. And they just sent me an email for 20% OFF which is rare for them: code is LIBERATION. Expires 7/30/10

@Jenbrandner: That was a very informative review. It definitely gave me options so now I will go research all of the site recommended.
