So as a Christmas gift we are giving certain Family members for Christmas not only a select few print outs….but either a photo book or a photo album….If we do the photo album we will print out the photos and place them in the album and they would be the same as what we would put in the photo book….just hand arranged in an actual album….since we are NOT paying like $300 for a professional album…not doing it…nope….
So my question is….What would you rather recieve a photo book or a photo album….

There are a lot of places to have photo books printed for significantly less than $300. I’m going to do our books through Mixbook (although off the top of my head shutterfly, tinyprints, snapfish, adorama, etc, all do photobooks as well) – sign up for their emails and they have sales going all of the time. Mixbooks start at $20 or so for 10 pages, and they have all sorts of options for layouts and their online builder is pretty easy to work with.

I’d DIY a photobook, like PP said, there’s lots of great places to do them cheap. I’d definitely do a photobook over album, I’m actually going backward in time to make photobooks out of pictures I have printed and tossing the prints and albums.
I’ve done this deal it turned out a great. They SW is super easy to use and totally customizable pages. I actually bought this deal twice more to do some vacation books. I do the basic one, and this can get you a 40 page 12×12 I think (comprable to any basic shutterfly/mixbook/etc site) , you can check the pricing on their site. They have fancier books too.
Artisan slate is another popular one lately, but I haven’t tried them out yet.

Thank you I am checking them out….everyone was trying to get me to shell out the $$$ for a professional mount album and I just cant afford that as these are a gift for DH, FIL & MIL, and My parents….and We just paid off the wedding are trying to pay for the Honeymoon and spending over $1k on gift photos for people is not an option…luckily we own all the digital rights to our wedding day and engagement photos…
i was concerned about the quality outcome of the pictures….

Google coupons for photobooks. And sign up for Shutterfly and Snapfish as they sometimes send discounted or even FREE books (you pay shipping.) I have never paid more than $15 for a 8×11 photobook and they make GREAT gifts.
I actually ordered my guestbook today from Shutterfly for FREE (paid $8 shipping) from a coupon from Macys when we went and registered. They may still offer this as well. Something to at least look into.

I second Artisan Slate. They are crazy reasonable and very good quality. I used Picaboo once and their shipping/service was terrible. I almost didn’t have a gift to give my husband on our wedding day!
