I just sent in the signed contract and deposit for our photo booth yesterday (YAY!!!)! They print copies for everyone in the picture, we get a CD of all the pictures after and will also have a scrapbook/guestbook for the guests to glue in a picture and write a message.
We do have an option between your traditional enclosed photobooth (pic 1) and an open-air photo booth (pic 2). Anyone have suggestions over one or the other?
I’m wondering if the open-air booth will get more people interested and participating. The big perk is that you can get bigger groups in the picture with the open air booth. If I do the open-air booth, I will likely make some sort of backdrop to match wedding colors and make it more of a designated space.

We did the open air and it was a huge hit! I think I would prefer open air as a guest so that lots of people can join. We had pictures with like 10+ people in them and they are hilarious.

TXbride2015: Based on your poll choices, are you afraid that the open air photo booth would distract from your reception?

MissMarple: Maybe? Our reception is all one big room.. not massive but it’s not like this will be in its own area. I’m not paranoid that people will be huddled around it all night instead of the dance floor, but just didn’t know if the lights from the flash were distracting or not.

It it looks like we have a similar photo booth (rockstar is what we have reserved) I think that’s what we will be doing too!

I voted for open. We had one at my wedding last Friday… and it was a hit! It was located right near the dance floor, so it kept both busy. I had thought she’d set up in the back corner, but only needed a small amount of space and where she put it up – it was perfect. I don’t think it distracted from anything. We ended up with a TON of photos taken, and also get copies of them all.

TXbride2015: Open air. Our DJ is providing the photo booth and he is giving us an option, so FI and I chose open. I tried it out at a bridal show and with the enclosed option, my mother, BM, and myself could barely fit. It was very tight and cramped. I have a massive group of friends, so I could see someone getting left out. Plus, my DJ has really icky green screens for an enclosed photo booth that I totally did not want. I plan on making my own, instead.

MrsMeowton: From the responses I will likely choose the open air booth as well. Regardless of the booth I was planning on making my own backdrop too… it was asking that question that prompted my venor to tell me I had options!

I went with an open air photo booth although mine was a DIY because I had all of the equipment, prior to getting married I trialed it at five different occassions and am still using it a year later as a part of my husband’s DJ business. Open Air gets attention and people love it.
