do it– we just went to a wedding and all the guests loved doing it- the company that the bride and groom hired printed out two copies of the photo strip for the guests to take- the bride and groom also left a book with a glue stick and sharpie near by so guests could glue one copy in the book and leave a note for the bride and groom.. it was fun.

we didnt have a photo booth when we got married though…

They are so much fun! We are DIYing a photbooth. We’re planning to cut some plywood so it looks like a polaroid shot (you know, the white border of a polaroid pic) and will be providing all kinds of funny props. We’ll have it set up so the pics can be printed out right there. There are lots of tutorials online to show how to make your own photobooth. Otherwise you have to pay $1,000 or so.

We were just at a wedding this past weekend with a photo booth. As a guest I think it was great fun! I even started considering having one for my wedding.

However, when I saw how much time the Bride ended up spending in it because EVERYONE wanted to take photos with her I reconsidered.

We are doing a photobooth but not a sit in one. We have made our alter and afterward converting that into the photo booth. its a 8 foot high structure, that is covered in drapery. We will have props set up beside it, and having a friend photographer work for 2 hours. So excited. I have been to weddigns with and without it, and either way is great.

We are doing a DIY booth with props from dollar tree. I bought a fiji instax camera so they look like Polaroids. We have two photographers so I’ll ask them to take some professional shots in the booth.

We are totally doing one!! We have a photo “wall” booth with over 200 props! They print a collage, with double prints, one for a scrapbook (our guest book) and one for them to keep as a favor. I even bought frames for everyone to put them in already. I can’t wait!!

This is from their website –

We’re doing one too!  Our photobooth person said we could pick any layout we wanted and we opted for the classic vertical 4-strip.  Also they’re going to make a scrapbook for us of all the photo strips which I think is a super fun wedding momento.  I also thought the price was super reasonable considering that they’re going to have an attendant to man the booth during the reception and are also bringing a ton of props.

Mkkr0523:  We had one and it was one of the best parts of the reception. DH and I are both expats living in NYC, so it was important to be able to capture tons of pics of our friends and family since it was the only time our New Zealander peeps and Canadian peeps would be together in one place 🙂

Our photographer was great – what she provided wasn’t a traditional photobooth but it was a nice backdrop with a bunch of props. So in some of the pictures entire tables of 10 were in the photobooth.  I have been to weddings with physical photobooths and you can usually only get 3 people max in one although the advantage is they print out pictures.

My photographer posted all the pics to facebook in an album for me and then later we printed them and sent them out to our guests with the thank you cards.

vmason009:  This is exactly what I am thinking about doing for our wedding. I want a photobooth but it will be an extra $700 on top of everything else.

Mkkr0523:  We are doing one and we just went to a wedding where there was one. I didnt see anyone pull the bride in at all. Definitely check on groupon – we got one for 4 hours for $400!

We are definitely having one!  We always have so much fun in them and I felt it was well worth the money. I can’t wait to photobomb people!!

If you do want to rent one, sign up for Living Social emails. A couple times a year I see a photobooth rental come up for half off the regular price. You can usually reserve one to use within a year.

We originally wanted one but after one of our friends had one, we realized it a potential waste. Of course it was fun the night of but realistically what did we do with the pictures after? They went into the garbage. if you can find a great deal on groupon or living social then it might be worth it! I just wouldn’t pay full price
