what size did you use? 8.5 x 11 (it's longer horizontally)
-how many guests did you (will you) have? Around 110-120
-if you already had the wedding... did you find your book was too big or too small? haven't done it yet, but I highly doubt it will be. It's like 20 pages.
-lines where the guests are supposed to sign, or blank spaces? Lines. I like lines for neatness.
-dedicated family page(s), or free-for-all? No dedicated family pages, but some of ours were different. Some said "Signatures" <-- probably half of them. The rest were a bit quirkier, like "Advice for the Newlyweds" and such.
I love it!
Oh, and I used Mixbook.
We ordered an album from kolo.com and are presenting it with photos from childhood and engagement and are decorati it with wedding scrapbook supplies, but most of the album is empty with photo corners preset and black space to write so that guest scan take Polaroid (size 300- about business card sized) and place them in and thensprite their message. We are expecting 84 guests (of 110) and have 80 sides in the album and 100 pieces of film.
If I were having an album printed with the photos in it, I'd probably use blurb or mpix.
-what size did you use? 8.5x10, 20 pages through Shutterfly
-how many guests did you (will you) have? 145
-if you already had the wedding... did you find your book was too big or too small? perfect, there was still a lot of white space left since only maybe 2/3 the people signed (and with half signed, it was even less signatures since couples and family sign as one)
-lines where the guests are supposed to sign, or blank spaces? blank spaces
-dedicated family page(s), or free-for-all? free for all
Here's what it looked like with a few signatures...

OK, one more question... out of the total pages, how many signing pages?
Right now I'm looking at a 10x10 (or 12x12) with 14 pages. Of those, I have 5 completely blank for signatures. We're expecting about 120 people, but if people sign as groups (say, per household), maybe I expect 60 signatures/messages?
So I'm thinking maybe I need more space? I have another page I could use, it currently has one of our wedding readings on it.
@atalante: We have 9 pages that have room for signing for a similarly sized wedding. Granted, we expect a few to be mainly blank. So...that isn't helpful. Lol
@atalante: Thanks! I had pictures on every page, but I kept about half to 2/3 of each page blank for signing. 5 pages sounds like an ok amount of space for 60 signatures in 10 x 10, esepcially for a 12x12 book. Personally I like it looking more full of messsages, so I'd go smaller. There was another bee here that went with 10x10 and thought it was too small too though.
-what size did you use? 8x8 square
-how many guests did you (will you) have? 40
-lines where the guests are supposed to sign, or blank spaces? blank spaces, on photos in the gaps...a lot of other people have done this and we are okay with them signing pretty much anywhere as long as its not like on our faces!
-dedicated family page(s), or free-for-all? free for all! with stickers, ink pads, and other goodies too!!!
@AmeliaBedelia: lol! I sent the share link to FI & he thinks we have enough room. I'm kind of with @pinkshoes in that I would prefer to go smaller so the signatures/messages are crowded/yearbook style. But I did try to expand the book to 12x12 and some of the pictures didn't have enough resolution (grrrr.) So I might bump one more page for signatures just to be safe. I guess I'll have to think about it..
-what size did you use? AdoramaPix 10x10 with 26 pages
-how many guests did you (will you) have? 135ish
-if you already had the wedding... did you find your book was too big or too small? Too big - in that there are quite a few pages where just one or two people signed
-lines where the guests are supposed to sign, or blank spaces? Blank spaces - I left a lot of white space around pictures and on some spreads I used pictures at 50% opacity or faded them out so that people could sign over them
-dedicated family page(s), or free-for-all? Free-for-all
