    Hey OC girls-

We're taking our photos befor the wedding.  I'd like to find a place where we wouldn't have to pay a fee that looks really awesome for pics. I was thinking we might get some good shots if we did them AT downtown disney, just paying to park, but I don't know if the crowds arount there would be 'photobombing' all of our pics.  Has anyone has this experience?  With actual wedding or engagement photos?

I don't want to have to travel too far because with weekday traffic I'm afraid we might get held up on one of So Cal's great freeways and not make it to our own wedding!

I saw the post about engagement photos in OC but most of the suggestions were for the long beach/HB area and I feel nervous going that far from our ceremony location.

I think downtown disney is a great idea! There are also a lot of really great spots in and around the disneyland hotel - which you can access from DTD. Also, you won't have to pay to park if you're there for 4 hours or less. :)

I think if you're wearing a wedding dress it will draw a lot attention in downtown.  But the hotels might not be so bad. The "California" hotel in DTD is really pretty.  Can you go there ahead of time to scope out some picture locations so you don't have to the day of?

I def could go check it out. Will they let you just go there to take pics if you're not staying at the hotel though?

I know you can go in without being a guest - to certain areas for sure. There are public shops and restaurants inside the Grand Californian, and it's connected to DTD, so people who aren't guests wander in all the time. I don't know for sure about photos in there, however. I have taken tons of pictures there with friends - Disney can't keep tourists from taking pics ;), but I know that they technically don't allow professional photographer crews inside the park -it might be the same with the hotel, you might wanna check.

I am having my actual wedding at Disneyland in the beginning of next year & we will be doing our engagment pictures inside the park a little later this year. You can't wear a wedding dress and take those photos in the park, but depending on your photographer, you can take engagment photos in the park. Ours will be spending the day with us taking pictures in the park on rides and so forth. I have a few recommendations if you're interested in that.

As far as outside the park goes, there are so many awesome spots to take pictures, and there isn't a requirement to be a guest. Tourists will stop and oogle at you if you're wearing your wedding dress, but they are courteous about staying out of your pictures. There are tons of options for "disney"ish pictures that makes it obvious to where you are, but there are also some amazing shots you can get that doesn't even look like downtown disney. One great "naturey" spot is in the courtyard of the Grand Californian. Also, over by the Disneyland hotel, the rose garden is open to the public, and behind the rose garden are walls of waterfalls that are awesome for pictures.

OHHHH! I would think that the California Hotel would be amazing! I love DTD and people are usually really good about not getting in the way of pictures or trying to jump in to the background!

@disneybride - totally green with envy over here! I would LOVE to have my wedding at DL but that so isn't going to happen unless the wedding fairy comes in with magic sacks of money! I can't wait to see pictures!
