OMG! I am using the same bridesmaid dresses, the colors are almost dead on, & my dress is very similar. I hope my wedding will look as beautiful.
Who made your dress? Its beautiful.
@kate9854: Oh thank you,
I love my dress so much, I'm so sad I'll never get to wear it again!
it is Alcanar by Pronovias, what is yours?
And those bridesmaids dresses are various Alfred Sung dresses and the colour is Quarry, is that the same as yours?
Your bridemaids dresses knocked it out of the park. You guys did a great job with coordinating the styles. Fabulous. I also love your lace dress. It's so gorgeous and I love your wedding. Nice pictures!
oh! i loved it! your colors are exactly the same as mine! i enjoyed your photos. you and your dh are a lovely couple with a beatiful blend of friends & family. congrats...
@MrsBarnes2Bee: Thank you so much!
Whenever I told people that my colours were pink, blue and silver all I would ever hear was how it was going to look like a baby shower! But I think it all came together really well, it was perfect for us :)
Wow! I LOVE all of your Wedding! I love how the bridesmaids wore different dresses but the same colors! I LOVED your dress, your hubbys tux looks nice! Please don't get offended by this but I think you look like a prettier non-cracked out version of Amy Winehouse. (Please don't get insulted because I think Amy Winehouse was GORGEOUS)
@Firefliesflash: Dont' worry I'm not offended, I've heard it before. I think it has a lot to do with the big mouth! hehe
Thank you sooooo much for posting all these photos! I'm also an Alcanar bride and I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see all of your pics. I hope I look half as beautiful as you did in it!
I was just curious - did you decide not to bustle the dress for the reception? I had thought I would (I am pretty clumsy and not at all used to moving about in long gowns), but I've been having second thoughts about how the bustling would work with the fabric... what were your thoughts on this?
Thanks again!
@babygoat: Hi babygoat,
glad to have been of a help to you :)
Yes I had my dress bustled for the reception. The alterations lady sewed a small loop of fabric to one of the lace decals at the back of the dress (not noticable at all) and reinforced the bottom two buttons so that it could just be looped on. Unfortunately this didnt' work as the loop was too big for the buttons and kept sliding off. So we decided to use a ribbon to put through the loop and tie onto the bottom two buttons. it wasn't my first choice obviously but it looked fine and noone even noticed.
The skirt is quite cumbersome so I'd definitely recommend a bustle.
good luck, its such an amazing dress!

The parents and bridal party were introduced to the ballroom to “Don’t stop ‘til you get enough” by Michael Jackson. It went down a treat!
We walked in to the Seinfeld theme song (our favourite show). I’m not sure if many people got the joke, but we enjoyed it, so we weren’t really bothered!!
We went straight into our first dance to Colbie Cailat’s “Bubbly”, which ended up being more or a shuffle but was lovely none the less!
After a few minutes we had the MC invite the rest of the bridal party and their partners to join us:
Father/Daughter & Mother/Son combined dance:
We decided that we would do a combined dance both to save time, and because none of us really enjoy being in the spotlight too much.
We danced to Stevie Wonder’s “You are the Sunshine of my Life” and it was lovely.
Then my FIL brought my Mum up and they totally stole the show from us!!
Speeches:
My dad made the first speech and it was (surprisingly) the best speech of the night! I love my dad but I he’s usually very quiet and reserved, so I was expecting a really short and to-the-point speech, but it was hilarious (he has a VERY dry sense of humour) and everyone really enjoyed it.
My DH then made a speech. Bless him, he was so nervous that we ended up moving them to slightly earlier in the night so that he could get it over with. He did a great job though.
The best man was my DH’s best friend who happens to be a very talkative Irish man!
He made everyone laugh
He ended with a lovely toast:
Cutting the cake:
We presented our mums with some beautiful bouquets to say thank you for all of their help and support.
This post has become so long, I'm going to do a seperate one for dancing, keep your eyes peeled!
