I’m looking for some of your creative ideas. Next memorial weekend we are getting married downtown. Our ceremony is at St. James chapel on Rush and the reception will be at the Sheraton near Navy Pier. I told my photographer (who’s from out of town) that I would give her a few ideas about locations for pictures…
So where do you think are great pictures outside and some options nearby for indoor in case of rain???

The famous Michigan Avenue Bridge is a perfect spot, 1/2 a block on the other side of the river from the Sheraton. There’s always the Navy Pier ferris wheel. The bridge that’s connected to the southwest side of the Sheraton – you can take pics with the Trump Tower behind you. Or for indoor, the Atrium in Navy Pier has a really pretty window wall you could take pictures by. Hancock Observatory is close, or the Water Tower Place glass elevators would make for some pretty cool shots.

Just as an FYI- I was in a wedding last year where the groom proposed at Navy Pier, so they wanted us to do wedding pictures there after the ceremony. They were told by people there that you need a permit and I think it costs somewhere around $200. So, if you are really set on Navy Pier for some reason, I would check on that first.

thanks to both of us. I’m hoping that it won’t rain, but thought best to be prepared. The only reason I say near Navy Pier is because our venues are right there.
We will probably get some form of transportation so if there are other great places, we can explore those as well.

I am planning on doing some outdoor photo shots at Buckingham Fountain and possibly Millennium Park, which isn’t too far from Navy Pier. I LOVE the way the Bean looks in photographs. My wedding ceremony will be across the street from the Hancock Building on Michigan, so we’ll need to get a limo or some kind of transportation for the bridal party if we do that, though.
