I have seen a lot of people right things really simple like "Wishes or Advice for the Happy Couple" - and people will get the idea. I think also, what I am figuring is that if people see in the guest book that each page has a slot for a picture (or half-page, as I am doing it since my pics are credit-card sized) and then the rest of the page is empty, they should figure that is their space to right, and probably something more than just their names will be necessary to fill it up!
I am also doing a photo guest book - I am using the Fujifilm Instax instead of tracking down a polaroid & film - and am getting a book made by SheaChicDesigns on Etsy who's going to make photo-corners to fit the instax-size photos. I am so excited for it!
I'm making my book before the wedding. I wanted to do a photobooth, but we don't have the money :(
Your books sounds awesome!!
We simply had the wedding party sign it the day before the wedding. as well as a few family members, just so people realized they could write all over it. It worked like a charm!
That is a great idea! I never thought about having it 'pre-signed.'
Thanks Bree72! That is wonderful!
We're also having our book pre-signed, because I want guests to know that they should feel free to write all over it, including over the pictures. I'll just have our bridal party sign it first.
@bree72: Thanks for the advice on having it out at the rehearsal...what a fabulous idea! Definitely will be using that one.
Glad I could help. My photographer actually made our book for us from our engagement photos, and he is the one who suggested it. He said no one wants to be the first person to write on what looks like an actual book, so once one person writes a message, it breaks the ice.
I want to do this, too! I actually saw a really neat one on Project Wedding - I think she used Picaboo..

I second kitty's sign suggestion.. very sweet and simple! Where you thinking of something more?
@MsTofu: I wanted something simple and clean. We need an excuse to use our engagment photos, and we thought this would be perfect!
I've heard picaboo is really good, althought I've never used it before. I want to make something that'll last for a long time, so we can look back on it.
I used Adesso Instant Photo Guest Book for my wedding.
Instead of using the Polaroid one, we used the one for digital photos. We had someone at the table to take pictures of the guests, print it out right away (we brought our photo printer) to place in the guest book and the guests signed on that page. The only thing is there are limited pages so I had to do a few group photos.
It sounds like you have the photobooth figured out, but if you really want a photobooth, you may be able to come up with something. I believe Mrs. Avocado had something along the same lines, but without the actual booth. They supplied the area, props, and photographer, and still had some really fun pictures. You could probably set up a little area with a curtain if the backdrop is really that important and then use a regular camera to capture the photos. Later you'll have tons of prints and can choose the ones to print and share with ease. We can't afford the photobootheither, but after seeing how well the other turned out (sorry I don't know how to link it), we just may be borrowing this idea and creating our own. Just a suggestion! Glad so many people had advice on the photobook!
@ Miss Stellar: Think about having your photographer set up a fabric backdrop and take pictures of guests during a slower hour of your reception. Just have it announced that for the next hour (or half hour, whatever seems most reasonable) the photographer will be at a photobooth. I'm planning to do this and either make a book later or plan out a guestbook with spaces for the pictures, which I'll print later. You could also have the guests sign cards that you add in scrapbook style with the pics.

My FI and are making a photobook to use as our guestbook. I believe one of the bees did this for her wedding. Anyway, we want to inform the guests to write us good wishes, or a message or whatever. We want them to write more than just their name and address (we already have all their addresses!!). My idea to do this was to have a sign informing guests what to do. But- I am blanking on what to write on the sign. Obviously, it needs to be short and to the point. So, any assistance would be great :)
