I made a very simple one for about $25. Here is a link to the instructions, if you are interested. I used a plain white sheet as the fabric, but you could use any kind of fabric you wanted.

I actually would use color instead of it being stark white, because it could actually make the person pale or washed out, since not everyone's skin tone is the same. I would do something neutral, to where it doesn't take away from the photos, but would still give it that special backdrop.

My venue offers free use of EZ Pop up tents (10x10) so I'm thinking of making one of those the "booth".. hanging fabric along all sides with shower curtain rings from the tent frame.
Buying a garment rack would be the easiest option. Otherwise you could get some 2 x 4's and put something together as well. If you have an electric drill and some screws it would only take a few minutes!

what did you use as your photobooth backdrop stand?
i plan to use a large piece of fabric as the backdrop, but where can i buy inexpensive stands?
