So after my previous post asking about bad favours, I’ve narrowed it down to two options.
1. The Photo booth: I personally hate these stupid things and I don’t think they should be considered a favour. But I know that my guests will like it and I guess we’ll have some fun photos from it. Plus, it might be good if people have forgotten their cameras or want to be a little silly. I’d have to buy props and stuff though and all the ones I saw online looked super lame.
2. The Chocolates: This favour has kind of a sentimental value because my parents used this chocolatier for their favours at their wedding when I was 8. The chocolates are delicious, come in loads of flavours and are top quality. The company is used to providing favours so they have lovely, elegant packaging options available that work for my colours. I want a box of four for each guest. I know this will be expensive but I think it’s something everyone would like and I’m willing to splurge on it.
What do you think? I don’t want to be one of those nightmare brides who says ‘fuck how uncomfortable/bored my decisions might make my guests! It’s my wedding!’ So what should I do and why?

We are doing a candy buffet & photo booth.. so.. i’d say that. But we are doing a polaroid photobooth to make it a tad chaper.
But i’d go with chocolates if I had to choose.

ive never been to a wedding with a photobooth (i live in mexico and they just arent common at all here) but my friends in england who have raved about them, absolutely love them. props are supposed to be lame no? oversized neon sunglasses etc?
thing is about chocolates is it depends on the filling. some people hate (or are allergic to )nuts, some people hate truffles, others specifically hate alcoholic truffles, some people hate fruity fillings, coconut, caramels, dark or white chocolate etc. then knock out the people on a restricted diet (health reasons or trying to lose wieght), and chocolates aren’t necessarily as much of a crowd pleaser as youd think
arguably you can have chocolate pretty much any time (granted, maybe not as high quality), but you are only going to encounter a photobooth at a wedding?
that was me playing devils advocate. i eat anything and i love chocolate. cant decide as would be happy with both!!

@newname_99: Photobooths can be almost anywhere though.. amusement parks, festivals, carnivals, i’ve even seen one in walmart before!

@BridieBea: Read what you wrote about the photobooth- don’t spend money on something you hate! If you love the chocolates, get the chocolates!

If you hate the photobooth and think they are lame don’t have one! I like your reasoning behind the belgian chocolates =) I think that’s very sweet! Maybe you can have a little note near your favors that explains why you chose them!

I think photobooths are great and it gives the guests to remember your wedding by. I booked a photobooth for my wedding and I’m going to give out 2×6 frames for the pictures as well.
But I think that since you hate them then you shouldn’t get one. I mean, your guests will have a great time regardless of a photobooth! Also, phones have really nice cameras nowadays so I’m sure guests will be using their phones to take pictures of there own regardless.
I think the chocolates, in your case, would be a really sweet gesture!

either way your guests wont ALL love it so I say go with what you like. I think photobooths are cute but I never take pictures in them bc I personally hate those strips and never know what to do with them. I would prefer chocolate. However, some people dont like chocolate.

Yeah sounds like you haaaaate photobooths.
We’re having one at ours but we love them! And we love using them at amusement parks and Walmart (lol haven’t really used one at Walmart). Best part about a wedding photobooth is it’s free, unlimited pics, and people are toasted and it kind of makes it that much more fun. Photobooths pics are just a fun time!

I voted for the chocolates just because of the sentimental value it has to you. . . plus, who doesn’t like chocolate? We’re having a photobooth at our wedding, but not considering it a favor. . . it’s more of an added bonus for our guests. Our actual favors are going to be cookies!

If you had to choose one or the other, then the chocolates due to the sentimental value. But I responded in your other post…we’re doing both chocolate and photobooth. 🙂

In your case, I would definitely go with the belgian chocolates! Your guests are going to be happy no matter what the favor is, and the chocolates seem to be much more meaningful to you and your family.

I personally don’t like edible favors. There’s nothing to keep and you feed your guests anyway.

I can’t stand the photo booths either. I wouldn’t be upset if that was the favour but I have never found those things any fun. I do know quite a few people do enjoy them though

@BridieBea: I was definitely going to say photo booth because I, personally, like them and they are a fun activity for guests. But don’t ever do something you don’t like/want! And once I read the personal story behind the chocolates, I was sold! Definitely do that!
