We are not doing it, but my photographer had the option of renting one. It was ~$2000. Granted, we are in New York. Not sure if geography played a part in cost.
I think you'll find different price ranges in different regions.
I think we got a great deal. $800 for 4 hours of unlimited shots, choice of B&W or color, customized logo, scrapbooking materials, fun props, and all images on a CD.
$800 sounds like a good deal! The one we looked at was about $1400 for the same type of package.
We're doing ours through Shutterbooth (locations all around the US...check out their website). The packages ranged from about $800 to $1295 I think. We are getting a reduced rate because our wedding is on a Sunday, so for $850 we get 4 hours unlimited pics in black and white or color or sepia, double prints--one for our guests and one for our "guestbook", and customized logo. In addition, they put all approved pics on their website (password protected event) and guests can also print from there if they want or upload pics to their FB page, etc. Sometimes you can fit 5-10 people in a photo booth and you only get one printed photo strip, so this is where the webhosting comes in handy I suppose.
I've seen prices anywhere from $600 to over $1500. We are actually building our's. My Fiance' is a programmer so he found the program for free. We are going to start building the "booth" in the next few weeks using an article on www.ehow.com. We are looking at possibly renting it out after we get married next year.
We're doing one and renting for 4 hours total cost with everything included was $650.
In Ottawa, ON, ours is $550.00 for 4 hours with added time at $100.00 per hour.
Included in your rental:
-Full time attendant
-Unlimited photos
-Custom DVD with both high res and web ready images
-Your event is online within the same week, usually 2 days after, for viewing and purchasing
-No added fees for set up or take down
Many other photo items & books available as well. You can add a PHOTO BOOTH to our weddings for an even lower rate.

My cousins was 1100.00 for the length of the reception (I think 5 hours?) It included unlimited photos and an attendant. It was super fast too! I;ve been to some where it took like 1/2 hour for the picture to print!
Our photographers have an open photobooth that we have included in our package. It is costing $850 (CAD) for 3 hours or so with unlimited photos. There will be one print-out for our guest(s) and then all the images will be provided to us on a DVD. Extra time will be $100 per hour if we want to increase the time we have it for.
Not sure where you are but in NYC, our photographer, Weddings by Two, rents them for $500. Not sure how long you get it for but they said that they intentionally made them inexpensive so people could actually afford them.
We're renting one out of Chicago. I mde a spreadsheet of all the place I could find and what they offered - if you're in Chicago let me know if you want a copy of it.
We're going with the cheapest company we found (which is also our DJ place) and we're paying $895 for 4 hours.
Our photographers have a very nice photobooth setup that they did for us for free.
In San Francisco, I've seen the average price is between $1000-1500 for roughly 4 hours. :)
ours is $800 and fits up to 10 ppl. custom logo, attendant, unlimited pics and 4 hrs.
@MWP:That is an amazing deal. We pretty much got the same thing but here in MA it is going to cost us $1200.
Our photographer had the option and it's around 1700. There will be an attendant to help our guests with the shots if needed, the guests get a printed image and we get a CD of all photobooth photos.
@curlygirl: Whats the name of the company you're going with? I'm also in the Worcester area!
WOW, I feel fortunate that my photobooth is ONLY costing us $400 for 3 hrs, with everything included. The main reason mine is so inexpensive is because our wedding is on a Thursday night. I practically MADE every vendor give me a discount for being an off day. Its paid off in the end. I would never have been able to afford $800+ for one.
