- Wedding: July 2011
I found a photographer. Her website didn’t have any wedding pics up, but I found her through the vendor section on here, so I figured I would contact her anyway because I liked her other pictures.
We have been emailing back and forth, and she seems like she’d be easy to work with. She has since updated her blog with pictures she shot at weddings.
Here’s the catch — she has only been a second shooter to another photographer. Her pics are good enough for me, but I guess I am just worried that she doesn’t have experience being self-directed. Also, she is not having her own second shooter; it would just be her.
She’s asking $500 for the whole day, no travel expenses, and that includes a 2-hr engagement session. We haven’t discussed albums prices or anything because I am mostly interested in a CD of images with copyright release; she said that would be $200. (Image release for the e-pics would be another $100.)
I liked her work, but I guess I am just nervous about her lack of experience alone. But our budget is pretty tight for photography and it seems like the next price point up is more than double that. Does that sound reasonable? Would you use her? I mean, everyone has to start somewhere!
