So. I have a photographer ordeal. As an aspiring photographer myself, it has been a long and difficult search to find photographers that fit my demanding qualifications.
On that note, last week me and the FI found a husband and wife photography duo that we both liked. Obviously they would qualify as 2 shooters. They would be available to us in our budget for 8 hours, and would include an engagement shoot in that price. Their style is very vintage, sepia, and stark black and white’s. (I actually found a couple of their black and white’s to be a little blown out) I love the style now – and it’s actually my own editing style I do with my own pictures. But I’m afraid of looking back in 30 years and wishing I had gone a different route.
We thought we had made a decision until today when I stumbled upon a photojournalist photographer that I really love. His pictures are the complete opposite of the first duo. They are sharp and are lacking some of the vintage tones that I had liked about the first. But his pictures are beautiful and timeless. I do seem to like his pictures better. Needless to say, he is the same exact price as the first duo. But it would just be him. He would be available ALL day, no time constraint, and would always include an engagement shoot in his package.
Now, I often give photographer advice on here and to friends and always say that you should always choose the photographer that will come with an assistant or partner if the price is the same. But now I’m afraid!
Do I go with the duo that I like a little less than the single photographer just because they are more for the money? Or do I choose the 2nd because I like his pictures more?
