So, we’re meeting with a photographer today for the first time…this meeting has inspired me to re-explore the photographers I was initally drawn to. And I’m coming back to two that I liked (actually neither of which are the one we’re meeting with today).
The price is similar, about $300 difference..the male photographer has really beautiful photos, almost magazine quality it feels like, and the female…the quality is different, maybe not as good, but they really have a lot more soul I feel.
So, I don’t know…I feel stuck. I’d imagine the ultimate decision will come down to personalities, but just for now…which do you guys prefer?

You’re exactly right on those. Bill’s pics are def more beautiful, more display worthy, in a way, but there’s more emotion in Corey’s. Go with personality. You’ll have great pics with either, pick the one you get on with.

From the small amount of time I spent looking at the sites, I think you may feel like Bill’s photos show less emotion because the photos he makes most obvious on the site are his portraits, while the other photog puts candids up first. The portraits you have so much more control over lighting, staging, etc – hence the magazine feel. But you don’t get the same emotion from them as you would a group of bridesmaids popping a champagne cork, or a mom zipping up a wedding dress, like the other photographer presents first.
If it were me – I would ask Bill for examples of more canded shots. See if the emotion pops for you more there. If it does, I would go with him. His flash work and lighting is really interesting, and he has some serious post-processing skills (make sure his post processing is included in your package – you def want it!)

Thanks both of you! That’s really great feedback, and I’m definiltely going to keep that in mind when we meet with them.
