I’m hoping someone can help me with my search for a photographer in the Pittsburgh area. My fiancé and I are getting married next spring (May 2015). Our reception and wedding will take place in one location, and we have a little over 30 people attending. We will be having an outdoor ceremony, a cocktail hour, and a dinner reception. All of our guests consist of immediate family and very close friends.
I have started looking into photographers throughout the Pittsburgh/Coraopolis area. I’m running into some obstacles. All of the photographers that I can find have established packages, many starting at around $2,600+ for 8-10 hours of photography, often for two photographers instead of one. I expect that we will need a photographer for around 4 hours since we are not having dancing after the dinner.
<br /> I was wondering if any of you had thoughts on the following:
- If you’re familiar with the Pittsburgh area, do you know of any wedding photographers willing to shoot smaller weddings?
- Should I contact some of the photographers I’ve found to see if they would be willing to shoot a smaller wedding?
- Has anyone had experience in creating their own “custom” package? I’m not sure how receptive photographers are to creating a different package than their standards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
