great job on finding such a good deal!  i’m not sure about the general prices in your area, but to me that seems like a solid deal, particularly with the engagement shoot included.

as for the quality, i am not an expert, but i think what matters most is how you like her work and her personality. you definitely need to click with her since you will be working with her a lot on your wedding day. by this point i imagine that you have looked at plenty of other photographers, and if you like her photos, go with your gut instinct!

you could ask for access to one of her client’s galleries or to be able to see all her pictures from one wedding, and also talk to any previous clients she has.

good luck!

Honestly I think that might be a little bit high – look at Christopher Helm

He is $1000 for the same stuff you are getting and his work is beautiful! Or look at Josh D Weiss – he is about 1400 I think for the same stuff as well –

The price on his website is higher than what he quoted me at! Good luck!

I heard something good about Derek Shane Fotos from someone, but I don’t remember who. He’s in ATL and I think his packages might be reasonable.

Also, I know a girl from high school, Lauren Nelson, who does amazing work. I think she’s just starting so you might be able to get a better rate from her. $2000 for atl seems high.

The price is not bad at all!! Very good, actually. Having the engagement shoot included is great because you’ll get to work with the photog before the big day, get familiar and comfy with them, and if there’s anything that you didn’t like or wanted, you can make sure to have it fixed before the wedding.

And I agree, if you can look at their work and you like what you see (style, shots, etc) AND you gel with the photog, then go for it. Do look at the album pricing and how much it will cost to order prints/albums, dvds, etc because we found out from looking that some reasonable photogs had outrageous pricing on those things.

Sounds good, though, just make sure you have an extensive meeting with them and ask them any and every question you can think of!!

Maybe I’m easily impressed – but I think the editing and creativity is pretty good. I think if you know you’re sticking to your budget no matter what, then this is a good choice!

The only thing I was suggest is getting 2 photographers so that you can get great shots of both the bride and the groom getting ready before the wedding.
