I used Lukas Photography (www.lukasphotography) for our engagement pictures at Boston Commons and we absolutely loved our pictures! He is extremely professional and does wonderful work. I highly recommend him.
I can't recommend my photographer, Samantha Warren, enough! She travels in New England- www.samanthawarrenweddings.com
I think her prices are beyond reasonable for what you get.
Good luck!
I have a few photographers I can recommend to you! First, my own wedding photographer extraordinaire - Robert Mirani (www.rcmphotography.com). I cannot say enough about his work! You can see samples on his website above, or some from my own wedding in my re-cap posts.
I also can recommend Rachel Hadiashar (www.mergeweddings.com). Rachel is so fun to work with! She shot my after wedding shoot, and we were so thrilled with the results (see my posts here and here)!
One more for you... I think she is on the pricier side, but I know that Anne Ruthmann (www.anneruthmann.com) recently moved to the Boston area. I can't speak from personal experience, but I've always loved the work that I've seen from her!
I hope this helps you out, and good luck with your search!
I am still searching myself ... but I love stalking photographers and these are some of the ones I've found. If you check out their blogs - they sometimes link to their friends who are also in the photography business.

My brother used Sarah Bastille (www.sarahbastille.com) and loved her!! It was before she became "big" and I think her prices have risen in accordance to her popularity and "best of" status on The Kno.
I wish I could review the rest of them. Hope that helps!
We loved our photographer, Erik Myslivvy, from Perfect Wedding Photo. Their website is www.perfectweddingphoto.com and www.perfectweddingblog.com (our wedding is on there, Brianne & David). Erik and Colleen took fantastic photos. They are both so nice and easygoing, and I didn't even notice them snapping pictures all day and night. When I researched, I really didn't want to spend over $5k - let me clarify, I really couldn't spend over $5k. They fit right in our budget, and we liked him so much we booked them within 24 hrs, and we had never met another photographer. I think for the area, plan to spend around 5k or more for a good photographer. If you want cheap photography, you could also try checking out New England School of Photography. An example of who came out of that school is Alternate Angles, which is one of the best I have ever seen, if you want to spend more than $10k! But some of the students are really amazing photographers looking to build a portfolio.
I highly recommend my photographer, Michelle Caucutt. She has this great energy and is so easy going that you feel completly relaxed around her. In fact, I hired her to do my boudoir pictures and I loved every single photo. Her 2007 prices were very reasonable and well under 3K but she may have gone up a little since I see that she no longer posts her prices on her website. Good luck!

Thanks for the money advice -- anyone else who has done their pricing already I would be really interested in how that conversation went!

Hello hive,
I'd love some suggestions on who you all have used or are using for photography. I don't know where to start!!
Also, what portion of your budget are you putting towards photography?
Thanks!
