I can see why!  I just gave in to my lust.  Photography was more expensive than everything else for us… but I just closed my eyes, took a deep breath and did it.  No regrets.  I’ll probably never splurge on anything else like that in my life, but it was fully worth it!

Wow, just gorgeous!

I had a serious obsession with a photog (I can’t remember his name right now!) but as soon as I contacted him for info…..the magic was gone.  Correspondence with him was totally sluggish and he came across as one of those sort of slimy vendors who just look at you as another dumb bride they can upsell everything to.

So it’s good in a way that you can’t bring yourself to splurge THAT much….because then you can still dream Wink

I’m obsessed with my photographer.  She was the first major thing we booked after the venue, and also the most expensive component of the wedding.  The more I see of her work (and see other photographers’ work), I know we made the right decision.

crebre: if you can save enough $ by DIY-ing, go for it.  We saved a lot of $ DIY-ing (not because we wanted to splurge on a photog, but because we don’t make a lot of $ lol) and it was actually really fun!  You might be surprised.

Like you said though, hopefully something good will happen in your future and it’ll give you the extra cash you need for your dream photog!  Here’s hoping.

AWWW i love her too and she’s a friend of mine. Your photos are definitely SUPER important and you have to LOVE your photographer. Totally worth flying her in if she’s your one 🙂 DO IT!

I’ve done weddings all across the US…. it honestly isn’t usually that much to fly.  If her rates are reasonable do it.  There’s a lot of ways to save money too… even something small like taking one flower out of your centerpiece.  Everything else is going to be done with and gone after you wedding… all you’ll have are the images…. go with your heart… it will be so worth it!
