Contract first or you don’t know what your providing a deposit for.

I wouldn’t do it. The finalized contract and deposit should be sent to the photographer together.

@june004:  sorry but do not send him the money.  that is not customary and you should NEVER send a deposit to anyone without seeing a contract.

Not acceptable… it needs to be the actual contract! Don’t let him pressure you into this.

Definitely not normal. I would only make payments after you have signed a contract

Definately not! As a photographer myself, id never ask a client to do that. I give the contract to the client to read over and sign, then once i recieve it back, i send them the invoice with the payment details.
