Cyd July 17 and July 18 2009 Finger Lakes, NY / Thousand Islands, NY

What photographers have people booked/used/considered hiring? I have a few favorites in the Rochester and CNY area, and have narrowed down my picks. I am huge photography buff so if someone has a suggestion, please share! Photos are the best part of a wedding in my opinion.

My pick for CNY, or NNY/TI region brides - James Bass Photo @ www.jbassphoto.com We are quickly becoming buddies so you can tell him I sent you! He is willing to travel as would be required for my own wedding.

For Rochester brides, although she too is very willing to travel, check out Kristina at www.photokisses.com - another gem, very friendly and adaptable. We've shared a few emails and I really like her personality and style.

I've posted quite a few of my wedding pics already on W-Bee and there are still more to come.

He is AWESOME and super nice. He's based in Canada, but he does Upstate NY weddings and NYC weddings as well.

My second shooter that worked with Tim was Scott McQuarrie. He's in Toronto but also does NY weddings. He is aso great and easy to work with.

I had a really, really terrible and rude experience with one of the photogs on Mrs. Radish's "considered" list. Unfortunately, this person is a really excellent photographer I would have liked to hire, but as a person s/he left a lot to be desired. I'd rather not say the name on here, but if you're considering one of these people, please PM me and I'll let you know more details.

Oh dear, GorgesViola. That sucks.

I should mention that I didn't actually talk to all of those photogs. They were just on my list of those that I liked. Some were either too expensive, booked on my date, or after finding more photogs I wasn't as impressed with their work.

Although I haven't had my Rochester wedding yet, I booked Kracke Photography. I had heard nothing but amazing things about them. Julia and Curtis are phenomenal to talk to, and their body of work is just amazing. They've been shooting together for years and their photos blend together seamlessly.

The first photog I talked to unfortunately was the rudest man I've ever had the misfortune of talking to. He's ROC based and just plain awful :( I'm really glad we found the Krackes, although there were so many other great photographers we talked to.

We're using Louis Torres of "Forever Platinum". I can't believe how generous and kind he is, he's already our buddy and we haven't even gotten married yet. His prices came in much lower than other photogs, and he travels all over NYS. (Based out of Scotia, NY)

I got married in Ithaca in July '07. Our photographer was Frank DiMeo. I can't say enough good things about the quality of his work. He takes a little while to process the images but it was definitely worth the wait! i could not have been happier with our pictures. He was totally up for shooting anything we wanted and very enthusiastic! Check out his blog:
