Would you happen to know of any photographers in MD/DC area who’s done Indian weddings? Specifically Indian Christian weddings? We got a photography deal 4 months ago, just to find a week ago that the photographer we had spoken with has been fired and I’m panicking!! The wedding is less than 6 months away and we have no idea whether the place is going to assign us someone good. We already put in our deposit down 4 months ago and don’t even know if we get the money back. In case we decide to not go with them, we need ideas.

Regeti’s is really well known – it’s a husband and wife team, and the husband is Indian. Their pics are AMAZING!!! They’re too expensive for me, but I would check them out if you’ve got a high enough budget!

An SA friend of mine from law school started a photography business awhile ago in DC. I have been super impressed by the pictures on her website and she is generally a totally calm, soothing presence so I know she’d be awesome at a wedding! If I was getting married here, I’d totally be using her.

Gareth Buckland Photography is shooting all of our wedding related photos. He isn’t Indian and I don’t know if he’s shot an Indian wedding. He’s English (born and raised there, became a citizen when he married his wife). He’s super laidback, very smart (his fulltime job is with the Army) and incredibly affordable.
He’s shooting our engagement photos (two locations), his wife is shooting the ceremony videograph, rehearsal photos, preparing for the wedding and everything during and after. All of that and free use of large format digital photos for under $1500.
I highly recommend him, he’s even been flown to San Antonio for an out-of-town wedding.
